You need to see this is not about Mark. Just because, as you said you identify with him doesnt mean you have to have his back everytime someone makes a comment with him in it!! I was criticising the producers for not punishing what he did which yes, was wrong.

I also said I see his obvious faults. It's not even about jumping to his defence but you have to admit you've been incredibly critical of him and Helen, which is your perogative of course. I was just highlighting the fact that other HMs did something similar, and it wasn't mentioned.

I think it's a bit unfair mark getting a free pass this week. The producers should know he'd be saved by the public anyway.

Why would anyone be anything but critical of Helen!! I cant see one redeeming feature in her at all! So I don't feel any reasons to justify my hatred of her even though I have given many.
As for Mark, I have explained what aspects of him I have been critical of and among them here is a consensus I done earlier on in a post when someone said that Joels mother approaching him was a good indication he was a nice lad. Yes it is my perogative, as you said and yes I have been over vocal in my dislike of his behaviour in the house but you cant say I haven't backed my dislike of him without reasoning.

"Joels mother has seen the exact same footage as us and the only reason she probably done that was 1) because he was the only person he barely insulted or bitched about and 2) she knows the power he has and wants to protect her son from him so it was a case of keep him on Joels side. She also probably seen him give Joel that bit of advice when he walked in which was, in fairness, a nice gesture. He my be as nice as anything outside but inside he has been creating a bad atmosphere, created divisions, ostracised people, talked down to people, tried to control almost every situation and manipulate stuff to suit his agenda. His constant need to resort to vile language, personal insults, derogatory, disrespectful chat (or banter as he calls it) and bitching about people when he himself says "he is just here for the banter" just shows how nice he is. With regard Joel, he recognises Joel is a thick skinned individual and possibly the only one i there able to intellectually handle Marks behaviour so he doesnt resort to verbal crusades against him. He tried twice and Joel made a show of him so he quickly stopped. Hence staying on his side. Thats generally how bullies work.

Same with Danny. despite Danny launching constant insults and tirrades against him over last few days he still is trying to get on his good side again as he, in my opinion, believes Danny is able to stand up for himself. If anyone else had been as vocal as Danny (see Harri two weeks ago) against Mark he would have destroyed them emotionally. He picks on weaker contestants, age wise, emotionally wise and intellectually wise. Christian, Harri, Brian, Chloe, even Sam (in a different way) etc. He tried it with Jade from day one but she stood up to him so he alligned himself.

He may not recognise he is doing this but it is ingrained in his personality and who he is. He has a superiority complex which some mistake for confidence and has a line of those who are beneath him and if those below that line challenge him he can't take it. he will allign himself with those he feels are on the same level as him or those he knows have his measure (ie Helen, Joel) .

The truth is he can give it but he cant take it and he knows this to a point. So he uses this to control the environment in which he finds himself so as that he comes out not looking foolish. In that respect he is very very street smart and it will get him well through life. But it is not the nicest attribute. Even when he is in the diary room doing his "woe is me" act, his empathy and pity is purely directed towards himself and ho he may be perceived and not to those he feels may have been affected by his behaviour.

I dont think he is an evil guy, I just think he has this superiority complex which has perhaps been bestowed onto him by others or the life he grew up in but he is very self aware and cares not for others that he feels aren't on his level. There is a lot of people out there like him, perhaps not even a small bit as extrovert and perhaps not so secure in themselves or smart.

To conclude a fascinating personality that I wouldnt like to be around but is making for intriguing viewing. Hope he doesn't win as such traits in people need to be tempered, not celebrated.

    Welcome!

I like Danny, but I don't see it as falling for anything. I genuinely believe he's a nice guy. Yeah, he's flown off the handle a couple of times....so what? Everyone in there has lost their temper at one stage or another. When you have a number of people living in close proximity to each other all day every day, arguments are going to happen, that's inevitable. Add into the mix an enormous amount of shit stirring designed to set those people against each other by BB and you can't expect anything else.

He strikes me as someone who's loyal, fair, who sticks up for what he believes in and isn't easily intimidated. Even Marc sees this in him and was upset when they argued. Losing your temper in the house shouldn't be held against you, if everyone else is doing it too is what I'm basically saying.

Its funny though that everone in the house seems to like and respect Danny! Even Helen ad Mark despite their differences! Yet people that see a few minutes snippets of him everyday have made complete opposing judgements on his character. I would trust people that have lived with him for laast 5 weeks in evaluating him. This is similar with Jack. He seems to be liked well in the house yet he gets a ridiculously bad edit that makes him look like a moany, pervert slob essentially!! Yet he does seem to be liked. That is why I hate this edited version, you cant really call it Big Brother.

I don't think you can make blanket statements about why Joels mother did what she did unless you know her personally! I read your post earlier and didn't have an issue with it at all, but as I said earlier that isn't a reason to give carte blanche to the housemates on the other side of the divide currently.
A lot of them have displayed similar traits in recent days, some would argue they were simply coasting along to get to the final and Marc broke up their little peace circle which was A ) needed and B) entertaining (at least in my eyes). The fact that they're fighting back now isn't a problem for me, but the aggression shown by Danny and Brian in arguments is way out of order and it is my belief that the public will see it that way.

BB have their favourites and their whipping boys and edit accordingly. Another reason I don't watch BOTS anymore is the blatant favouritism that goes on by both the presenters and the panel they hire. No impartiality at all.

I actually think that Joel's mother shouldnt have kissed Mark like she did. She nailed Joel's colours to one side's mast by doing that and he was perfectly capable, given his personality and acknowledged sense of reason in the house, of riding both sides of the storm. He could have played the diplomat but his mother kissing Mark told Danny, Christian, Jack et al that Joel was in Mark's gang. I saw his mother on one of the BB shows (cant remember which) and thought she was enjoying the bit of limelight, i think that's what was going on here too.

Yeah but hasn't this always been the case? It's not just this year they've been doing this so I think we just have to grin and bare it.
I wouldn't agree on BOTS though. It's a wildly changing crowd on the show, for example when Aisleyne was on the panel the crowd was massively anti-Helen. The next night they then rowed back on criticism of her and a lot in the crowd supported her. I just hope that Eileen has had her quota of shows now so I don't have to listen to her again!

I think it's really pathetic that some of you are arguing about a reality show.
It's not pleasant to read all this, so grow up.

I don't care if Harry nominating Simon was a cop-out; he's a nasty streak of pi** and nobody will miss him if he's gone.

I find Joel as dull as dishwater and hope he's out soon.

    Were you watching tonight's show!?

Helen respects him!? She was in the Diary Room this evening saying that Joel and Marc are the only honest housemates. No mention of Danny. She complained about Sam's stupidity not voting for him or one of his sheep. She called him Christian's puppet master!

I think Helen is purely following a tactic of keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Danny stopped talking to Marc but he wouldn't try it with Helen because she'd rip him to shreds. She has said far worse things about "people he cares about" both in the house and outside it.

As for Marc, I don't think for a second he believes they are friends but he needs to do something or he's going to be up every week.

You talk about Marc picking on the weak characters but what about Danny recruiting them all?

In Chloe, Christian and Jack, he has three weak characters who now seek his approval for their actions. He's their puppet master like Helen said. He also quickly deals with any of them who step out of line e.g. Chloe.
    Welcome!

It's the controlling side of him I don't like. He plays the nice guy act but his actions show otherwise.

Marc, on the other hand, doesn't try to play the clean boy image. He admits what he is.

Danny has his tactical team mobilised and ready to pick off who he likes so he can get as far as he can.

He's also admitted that he changed his tactics based on the info he got from the Time Warp housemates.

If he was being himself, that change wouldn't be needed.

Surprised at you, deco nate! I'd have expected more respect from you re people of different opinions. There are a few of us! Fact of the matter is, a great number of us rely on just the nightly HL show, and BOTS. That is what TV3 provides. We have no control over that. Being told before the show is aired, key things that have happened, takes from our enjoyment of the show. Because we have expressed that makes us "moany Feckers" - or is this just a joke and some "banter".

First no spoilers, now no debate. This thread will turn into the ghost town that last year's was yet! Considering how divisive the house is this year it's no surprise it's going to bring up healthy debate. What else would you talk about sure? Nick picking his nose for the 20th time of the day? Jack finally takes off his dressing gown at 10.05pm?

I'll have to use spoiler tags here so it makes it hard to discuss what most of us know already but here goes.

My personal opinion when there are a few up for eviction that people will only pick up the phone for someone they feel strongly about. People that have really annoyed them, for that reason I think (because people have short memories it will be based on this weeks annoyances)
    Harry, Simon, Sam and Joel
    are safe, I think
    Christian and Jack
could be in real trouble, they will have the pro Mark vote and also the most annoying vote. That's if the noms stop there but they probably won't and go on until everyone is up.

In that case, votes will totally split but I think it will be
    Jack
    to go.
