Bought an accord 07 model. Lovely car, Drives great but one gripe I have it's hard started the longer it's left sitting.
Started it today after 2-3 days idle and it took about 4 cranks for it to start and white smoke came out the exhaust but went away after a few seconds. I was thinking it could be a weak battery that isn't turning the crank fast enough? That or else oil is leaking into the cylinders or something else. I haven't a clue really.

I was thinking of leaving it sitting and connect jump cables and try to start it next time with a jump to see if it does the same.

If I start the car and leave it idle for a few minutes then stop for a few minutes and start it again it starts fine.

    Any thoughts on what's wrong?

Not hard started if it's only left a day though. A Honda mechanic said it could be moisture in the fuel filter. He's servicing it next week so hopefully not much is wrong

Yes I would think fuel filter, do you have any idea when it was last changed?

Previous owner said it was done but you never know. Got a service today so I'll see if it does it

Change of fuel filter has sorted the starting problem.

But now the timing chain needs to be replaced.
Any idea how much it will cost in total for a good independent mechanic to do it?
