Ditto every band/artist that's making music 20 years at every festival from now on.

    There's no exceptions.

Just thinking that the line up isn't really stellar and Florence playing a standalone in the Three Arena might snaffle a few away from it too.

Could always buy & then sell it if needs be I guess!

Re the selling out possibilities, this is my 4th year going to Body and Soul and the first time it's been sold out over a week in advance - am pretty certain there's been availability right up to the day of the festival other years. Their Facebook page is full of people now frantically trying to get a ticket.

I think it's fair to see this as a sign of increasing demand for what EP is selling, so if you're intending on going, deffo better buying as soon as you can imo

Have your read this month's New Scientist journal? There's some experimental research being done that's trying to establish whether different people can like different things.

Our very own M.T. Cranium is usually fairly spot on with his weather reports. Keep an eye on the weather forum and this thread - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057417513 - for long range forecasts.
He posted this in the weather forum in May 2015:
Okay then, I read through this discussion and one thing I disagree about is having made the same forecasts each summer (or winter) hoping for a hit. That has not been my procedure nor has it been my objective. Anyone can look back and see that different years have had different forecasts (and different outcomes in terms of accuracy). Somebody mentioned those allegations in the context of the 2013 summer forecast which was (accurately as it turned out) for a hot and dry summer.

This summer, I would expect temperatures to average near or just slightly below normal values overall in Ireland, with rainfall varying from below normal in the northwest to slightly above normal in the southeast. I have published elsewhere that I expect it to be quite a wet summer in southern England but with the storm track likely to be a bit to the east of Ireland much of the time, I expect the rainfall regime as stated above.

Sunshine is likely to be close to normal or maybe a bit below normal. As summer is defined to be June, July and August in weather circles, this says nothing about May which is apparently going to be quite a wet, cloudy month with near normal temperatures. I would go with late August or early September as being the best part of this year's summer in Ireland.

So any other opinions about this summer? We will have a contest where you can make some predictions, look for it around mid-May with entries into the first week of June.

Yeah, it was right next to a very sad article about these people who have a sick compulsion to pretend that every statement ever made on the internet must be followed by the words 'in my opinion.'

You slightly comprised your sarcasm with an inability to use a simple quote function, in my opinion.

Very harsh, IMO one of the best albums so far this year. Looking forward to catching the new material live.

Well, if it says it on a page that appears to be run by someone from EP's marketing department, it must be true.

Anyone criticising the overall lineup needs their head examined, even accounting for different tastes.
It's a top class lineup and if anyone can't find enough stuff they like on it (without dismissing acts they've never even listened to) they should donate their ears to medical research.

Is it possible to bring a caravan on hitch of a back of a car and bring it to the general car park?

Always wondered this? Never really been in the camper van site so can't say what's gone previously!!

In theory its pretty much the same thing?shouldn't be a problem? The only real negative is extra length/space when connected to the car.

One to ask the EP Twitter or Facebook about!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,333 ✭✭✭✭MadYaker

There are stewards in the car park who check your tickets on the way in and id say they probably wouldn't allow it.

    Really?

I'm a metal fan that likes a bit of jazz on the side. What would you recommend?

Just don't go to any of the gigs so , that's what I do and this will be my sixth time going this year.

This is my tenth but my question was aimed at the point that the line-up caters for such a variety of tastes that it shouldn't be criticised.

I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Sorry, I was agreeing with you... That's what makes EP so special, is the variety of not just the bands but the people that are it.

Oh and plus the weather, that makes a huge difference!

Maybe check out Benjamin clementine for your side of jazz.
