I.e. my shuddery post, bear has me frightened.
When you say the accelerator is shuddering, do you mean you feel something through your foot on the pedal, or the engine seems to be stuttering when you try to accelerate? Or something else?
    E-Class is it?

What colour dash lighting/dials does everyone have around here actually. My focus is green with red pins, mondeo is orange/red with white pins.

    Caramel :)

    Accord. Auto. Dunno what engine.

If the problem is repeatable on certain sections of road I'm guessing it may be traction control or tyre related. Try turning it off as an experiment?

Could just be plain bad road surface. Some cars are more susceptible to rippled (poorly laid) surfaces than others. There are several sections on the road between abbeyfeale and limerick that would make you think you had a puncture or something depending on car, tyres, speed.

The pedal shudders, engine is fine stops after a few seconds.
Am wondering if I need to get the wheels aligned but it only went through nct a few weeks ago

If it's auto then it must be petrol, probably the 2 litre if it's 03-09 model. Wouldn't panic about relating it to bears story, modern diesels and injectors are a common marriage that'll empty your wallet.
Traction control shouldn't be the cause at higher speeds? We need to know more! Is the engine under a certain load? Sounds like bumpy surface apart from the relating it to the accelerator comment, that's what's throwing me.

If it's alignment you feel it most in the steering.
Accelerator pedal shuddering is a strange one.
Is it at a certain speed? If you slow down but keep the revs around the same like dropping gear, does the vibration slow?

Yes it's at two speeds, between 40/45 mph and 55/60 mph

If I take my foot off the accelerator (It's an auto) it stops instantly
If I brake it goes away instantly

Last drive home from work now in the car before the new owner comes to collect it today.

Won't lie it's emotional won't be easy handing the keys over.

You're sure it's not steering feedback. Wheel imbalance will show itself at this speed and will be much less noticeable when you accelerate past 60 or break below.

I've always had a funny thing about dials and colours! Hated the orange of my 98 Ibiza, it was my first car though, also hate fords green ( sorry fordys) the a3 has white face with red dial but my s3 was the best which had red face white dial.

My Mazda has a black background, red letters and white needle, Hyundai Coupe had black background, orange letters and red needle with a bold effect and thick needles, looked like it was from a toy car or something and my old Astra was black background, white letters and white needle.

Strange. I'd need to drive it! Sure swing down towards Limerick on your way home! A series of experiments will need to be undertaken.

You have the sony 6cd and seperate climate control? Or is it the nx unit, with the sat nav? If it's the former, then it's piiss easy to takr out, start at the cup holder and work your way up to the radio, everything just clicks off. There's 4 normal screws around the radio and then the radio is free. I had a step by step procedure up here when I changed my radio. There's loads of demos on talkfords wiki too, could have shown you them if I knew in time.

It's a stupid idea having the serial number written on the radio anyway, awkward to get at! Do your dealers charge a tenner for code retrieval, mine does. Must get a code for the one I took out, and stick it on ebay.

Just normal Sony dab radio with cd player. Yeah 20 euro for it, hadn't been there or bought the car from them

Lads, anybody know a decent mechanic in North/Northwest Dublin? I went to Advance Pitstop last year for brake discs/pads as a naive first timer, never again.

Would you travel to Rathoath/Dunboyne area? Only about 10 minutes north of blanchardstown.
