    What is your favourite fruit?

Having been abroad for a number of years I've tried a variety of different fruit I hadn't tried in Ireland. The strange thing is that a lot of this fruit is available in Ireland and not too expensive considering it's imported. Yet my family and friends eat apples, bananas and oranges exclusively.

I tried introducing mangoes to them but they weren't having it. Mangoes are amazing and my personal favourite. If you haven't tried one... try one today.

Jackfruit or mango (specifically Alphonso) for me, that said a good properly ripe pineapple is hard beat too.

But Jackfruit is just epic. I love being in South India for Jackfruit season, the smell is amazing and the taste is just bliss.

Nothing better than buying a bag of ripe chilled jackfruit segments from a street vendor on a hot summer day.

I bought a Mango the other day. I still have it. What do I do with it tell me? Seriously.

Eat everything but the skin and core. Just peel it. The skin comes off fairly easy. It's a bit messy though. There's a professional way to do it by cutting it into three segments. You can probably find a video on how to do that .

I have a definite fondness for lychees. There a fruit fizzy drink in the foreign section of Tesco's that is delicious if you like lychees. Also like physalis, which a farmer behind thte estate I grew up on used to grow.

    Hate grapefruit. 'orrible fruit.

I do love a kiwi, but there is something very off putting about the skin of a kiwi...

Please, don't make excuses for your own lack of interest in things by suggesting there's something wrong with me.

I would eat apples, strawberries, pineapple, raspberries, etc. I'd prefer vegetables if I had to pick either fruit or veg. If you asked me tough what was my least favorite fruit was I'd say Mangos. Even the scent of them I find disgusting.

Some of them look to be hard work for little reward.
Can't beat an easy to peal sweet Mandarin.

Persimmons, but not the rounder firm ones that are sold everywhere, the darker super juicy and soft ones.

    Also... raspberries, loquats and annonas.

But you're right OP a lot of people don't seem to know any more fruit than bananas and apples. Once at Dunnes I was asked by the guy at checkout if a pomegranate was an onion! The lady behind me was almost crying from holding back the laughter.

I seem to just get a wave of inner well being any time I eat Pineapples. Never been sure why. They are my real world happy place I think.

I am a demon for Pina Coladas too in the summer, so I love me some coconut.

Very misunderstood fruit imo. Love ruby grapefruits with natural yoghurt topping.

Delicious, and great addition to a diet, grapefruits actively burn fat.

You can buy the young white ones in Asian markets but usually €2.50 a pop. Lidl usually the mature hairy ones like €1.

I love, love, love fruit. There are loads I'd love to try, like Jackfruit, and some I still search for after a brief window of availability (Ugli fruit), but I can only think of one that makes me think 'meh'; the Dragon fruit.

Put a load of berries in front of me and I'm in hog heaven.

I am veggie ...I want to try vegan again sometime. I found it hard. I don't subscribe to the whole totally raw food thing. But I have tried some of their recipes.

I have tried dragon fruit ...it was like a mild kiwi. I haven't ever tried jackfruit. I know it smells though.

Are you mixing up jackfruit with durian?

And yeah I find dragonfruit is basically a kiwi with a sort pear flavoured taste to it. Wonder if they taste stronger/sweeter actually where they're grown.
