The glass on my front indictator came loose - twice! Any ideas?

Has anybody else heard of this problem. Twice this has happened that the glass from my passenger side front indicator glass has..just fell off. TWICE!

The light itself is still installed just the glass - which is glued, doesn't have clips - has came loose after long journeys...So I'm thinking its heat has loosened the glue but to happen twice is madness.

Any ideas how to stop this? any kind of heat shield I can surround the light with?

99 C180. I'm sure its the heat loosening the glue..or someone is f*cking with me!

If it fell out once then surely it wasn't right the second time either?

Or are you saying that you replaced the part and it still happened?

#2 - Replaced the part and glass cam loose again.... First time I got a new indicator from a breakers and put it in. Now after about a month the glass has also came off this light. The housing is still snug and fitted in, bulb etc.

I thought maybe the other was an old and the adhesiv perished over time, but now its happened again after a 3 hr motorway journey.

Here it is. It's a clean disconnect. I'll be pissed if this happens again in a month if its happened twice. Waste of money! vbulletin

cheers for the link. I found a guy on adverts earlier who was 10 plus 10 postage so same as. OCG spares if anyone needs it in the future. same price so i'll support the little guy! I didnt think micks garage wld have it cos of the age of the car really.

But I might have to bookmark for end of june:rolleyes:

Clearly there was something up with these from the factory....buying new would be the only real solution...
