Just looked about about 30pages of the original flight radar thread of times I wasn't participating for. 27/12/13 was certainly an interesting day!

Oh how I miss the winter time. Just watching a plane on FR24 go 2000ft, 1900ft, 1850ft, 2100ft 2400ft, gave an undescribable thrill.

Anyone remember what date that 8 planes in a row diverted to Shannon from Dublin? Any way I could get the Liveatc archive from back then?

Doubt there are any links to a full archive. Here's something I just found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt-pLFx1Pf0 I will add more to this post in edits if I find any.

Flight diversions in operation this evening due to severe thunderstorms in Texas

The BA Heathrow - Austin flight was diverted to Houston, it took a rather indirect routing to get around the storm to get to Austin before the storm closed in on Houston

All flight traffic in the area at the time.

This would be a charter flight I presume?

Yep, confirmed on the Knock Arrivals page.

Anyone know why? Is it just a normal sun holiday charter or something else?

What exactly is that ocean sounding white noise and beeping on the Knock feed? It's kind of relaxing in a way, but.....

:D I wanted to listen in to see if there would be anyone there to welcome them in or they'd have to do everything themselves at this hour :P

34 in use again at Dublin... why can't it be in use when I'm flying and have a window seat on the left hand side of the plane?

Once again, hopefully someone will do the decent thing and record it. Still to date there is no day/night footage of the view over the city center from the 34 approach :(

I must be in the minority because when I used to sleep over at my friends who was right under a flightpath I found any planes coming and going relaxing and comforting in the dead of night...

Again? That needs to be sorted.

Listening to it the last night at about 1:30, a blue air was delayed when an incoming flight hit a hare. The ATC told the pilot that about 10times before realising he didn't know what a hare was, so he told him it was a rabbit like animal. Think he was delayed an extra 20mins due to it, ground crew were busy at the time so took them a while to get out.

I was out cycling near the Boot Inn two weeks ago and a hare ran out in front of me that was the size of small sheep. If I'd have hit the fecker, I would've been killed! :D
