Aritech CS350 Alarm Problem

    The 1 amp fuse blows now and again. When the fuse is replaced it works fine for a few days and then the same thing happens. The display just says "Rear Sensors" and then "Fuse".

    What is the lifespan of one of these alarms? Is it more likely to be a sensor problem or a problem with the CPU board or power supply or something else ? The battery was replaced about 2 years ago. How much is a basic replacement alarm approximately and can it use the sensors that are already in place?

    I would check for a short on the cable plus what ever device that is connected to it. If the main control panel and keypad are working then I would only recommend a upgrade if you where looking for extra features to your system.

    Its a process of elimination. If you find a short on the cable the fuse would blow straight away. There is a chance the cable may be damaged or snagged & the short appears & disappears. This could be caused by a snagged cable or a staple through a cable & temperature changes causing expansions/contraction are causing intermittent problems.
    Disconnect any devices on the aux 12v circuit at the device itself & leave the cables wired at the panel. This will confirm or eliminate the cable as the problem.
