04 Mazda 3 Pollen Filter and Leaking Sump

Evening all,

Enjoy this forum allot so said I'd post these up. Its a Mazda 3 pollen filter change which is ridiculously located at the very back of the dash and then when I went to change the oil; discoved the sump was weeping....... have new sump ordered from the dealer; should arrive tomorrow I hope

First pop out the dash trim and undo the self tappers holding the top of the glove box up

Remove the glovebox complete after removing the footwell LHS trim

Glovebox removed; fusebox dropped to expose the pollen filer housing located right at the back of the dash in the centre

This shot shows the pollen filter hosing cover; the yellowish metal bracket has to be unbolted too to allow access to the filter housing

Old and new filters; they old ones are prob in the car since new in 2004!!!!

Next job is the weeping sump

Anyone dropped the sump on a Mazda 3 before????? Done the sump on a 323 bout 2 years back so hopefully will go as well as that did.....

Pi$$ poor on Mazda's behalf to design a simple filter change to be so complicated and also the quality of materials they use on their sump too is very poor.
