Woman on the radio for the No side, "we're losing because we didn't have the funds from overseas that the yes side got". Bollox. The Iona institute got all of its backing from rich Americans.

And the irish Daddy now has equailty for both his children

(lets not throw the equailty out in the first hour)

The Irish daddy is still asleep after sitting up late with his nervous child and her girlfriend trying to prepare them for a No. When he wakes up he's going to be over the moon.

Yes, and it's worth remembering that given this result, statistically thousands of devout Catholics voted Yes.

The Church will change their teachings no doubt in time.

They denied evolution for long enough until the evidence was overwhelming.

I'm actually delighted! I got up not long ago to Mum giving a minute by minute feed of all the information. She doesn't even really care too much about the referendum but she knows the amount of effort I've put into it so she's giving me a running commentary :D

I'm absolutely over the moon with the results so far. What would make me probably go skippping through the streets (in my pjs) is if Donegal turned out a Yes vote. I think Daniel O Donnell did sway a significant number of the older, rural population though.

Donegal South West, also swinging towards Yes at the mo.

In 1 way I'm pleased this has passed. If it didn't we'd be having another referendum in a few months again, wasting even more cash.

Hope you're wearing clean pjs because a Yes in Donegal is a real possibility!

And isolated those you choose to call homophobes .

I foresee a surge in attacks on gays by those you have isolated.

I have a profoundly gay son. I hope he doesn't suffer any back lash.

    Enjoy your parades and beware.

And YouTube ads. The amount they had would have costs thousands.

The interviewer asked if it was because they simply lost the argument - she refused to say yes and kept going back to the money.

Isolated? No idea what you're trying to say here. Backlash? What?

Small beans. The message this gives to all in Ireland now and in the future is that we have grown up a little bit as a country and are a bit more accepting of everyone. We still have a long way to go but hopefully, a few more generations will do it. We might even get a boost from tourism outweighing the cost.
