Hi, I finished college Thursday gone by and got a letter from the welfare to come in and sign on etc but at the bottom in handwriting it said to discuss your back to education allowance, now i did a 2 year level 6 and im going onto a level 8 course but the 3rd year of it so it could be said as a change of course, just wondering has anyone advice or experience dealing with this? any chance they would cut my btea? any help appreciated thanks

When I was browsing around today for my own BTEA allowance, I did see this...

    Undergraduate courses

In general you must be starting your third-level course at year one. However, you may be eligible for BTEA if you:

    - Did not complete your course and are returning to the second or subsequent year of your course.

    - Are exempt from part of your course because of a qualification you received in a previous course. For example, you have a higher certificate in a course that you now wish to take to degree level.

So really, you are exempt from the first two years of your course because of a qualification you received a qualification you received in a previous course, so I'd imagine it'll be alright. Dunno why she'd want to speak to you though.
