Astonishing that people believe this s***e in this day and age , depressing stuff.

What's even more astonishing and contrary to all scientific reason is that so many believe the opposite.

Well it's turned to abortion in the other SSM thread; it's all fun and games.

I'll just leave this here; we should really discuss these tornadoes next.

Tornadoes! Will they be gay tornadoes? How does a gay tornado differ from a straight tornado? What happens if two tornadoes merge together? Can only straight tornadoes do that? Oh I'm so confused!

Homophobia is a learned beheavour so if it is observed in children it had it's origins in an adult.

Hate is 'natural' in your world eh?
    Glad I'm not a frog.

The vast majority of children will scrunch their nose up and emit a high pitched 'whaaat?' when the subject of gay marriage comes up.

It's got nothing to do with homophobic parents and everything to do with the fact that gay marriage does not (currently) exist.

"Homophobia" is the natural disposition against people who say they are gay - hence most of the anti gay prejudice can be observed among children like they are on auto pilot and much more so than adults who are less inclined to upset anyone.

What sort of bull**** is this? Children are not 'naturally homophobic' they only learn to mirror homophobic attitudes, if they have bigoted, homophobic parents and 'role models'.

Actually I shouldn't be giving out. We are two days away from the referendum and finally someone from the no side has come out with the real reason they are voting no!

    ((Sigh))

Can you please link to peer-reviewed scientific research to back this up?

Every baby tornado deserves a mam and a dad. Sure, there's already civil partnerships for tornado's. Why would you change the legislation you monster???

    Children are not 'naturally homophobic'

It follows therefore that children are not naturally gay either. In fact it is FAR more plausible to say they would have a natural instinct to be homophobic then to be "born" gay.

And this is why it's a load of nonsense to be talking about "changing attitudes" - not going to happen.

My children, now 14 are total yes voters. I try not to force my opinion onto them but I'm sure it has some affect. But they have never naturally been anti-gay. Have you some proof for this statement, some study to back up your claim. Your statement just sounds ridiculous.

Claiming something is natural is the natural response of the common garden idiot when he wants to justify whatever he happens to like. It has been used to justify just about everything hateful there ever was: racism, sexism, social darwinism, we could go on and on...

So congratulations! You just joined an age-old tradition of narrow minded rationalization of hatred. You can just hang your coat on one of the burning crosses over there.

Not in the case of homosexuality, it's not. It's very much picked up at a very young age without any help at all. It's the natural disposition and why wouldn't it be? Nature did not intend procreation among human beings of the same sex.

Such a nasty frog you are, trying to pretend you were born hating. You shame the name of Kermit.

So it's un-natural to be born with feelings now?

    What?

Your logic is now up there with your statements. how can you draw that conclusion, because someone says a child is not naturally homophobic how can you say people are not naturally gay.

Why would anyone be Homophobic, what's to fear ?

If not, your marriage is utterly unaffected by this change, just like mine.

Notice how are normally prolific no voters are silent when it comes to Kermit's vile homophobia... Where is the concern for the children now?

I 100% agree with you. So can we stop this "born" gay, "naturally" gay nonsense and get down to the real issue - bad parenting.

How can he say they are not naturally homophobic? If you follow logic and reason it is far more likely that children would have a negative disposition to homosexuality. Natural instinct.

"Bad parenting" churns out homophobic bullies, not homosexuals.

Thanks, Kermit, finally a No voter who posts a real reason to vote No: homophobia.

Of course when Panti said this, RTE got the crap sued out of them.

IS this what boards is now? Space for spouting homophobic nonsense?

I have to say, I laughed out loud at this.

At it Kermit, not with it.

It's not even insulting or frustrating to read these kinds of things. It's just amusing. That some people are so deluded, so stuck in the dark ages, and still so completely cock sure of themselves while looking totally foolish is funny.
