Hello ,I was wondering if any one could give me advice on an incorrect name on a fixed charge notice.

My Da recieved one today , with the wrong christian name and is wondering what to do. He knows he broke the rules and is willing to pay but if he pays a fine under the wrong name , is there a chance that things could get complicated ? or that the fine wouldnt be considered paid ?

This is not about chancing his arm to save a few bob but a straightforward question about the system/rules/correct procedure.

He won't be able to pay the fine if the name on the fixed penalty notice doesn't match his driving licence. If he fails to pay in time he will get a larger fine and ultimately he could be summoned to Court.

He should immediately contact the fixed penalty processing office at the address shown on the FPN and have the name amended. The deadline doesn't change so the longer he leaves it the less time he has to pay.
