Three London schoolgirls who ran away to the Middle East to become "Jihadi brides" are on the run from their husbands in the Iraqi city of Mosul, it is being reported.

Shamima Begum, Amira Abase and Kadiza Sultana ran away from home in February and were seen on CCTV at a UK airport and in Turkey before slipping over the border into Syria.

Since arriving in Isis-controlled territory, Amira posted a Tweet including a photograph of takeaway food and the caption 'dawla takeaway w/ @um_ayoub12'. The message seemed to imply the girls were enjoying life in the Middle East.

However, it has now been claimed by an anonymous blogger called "Mosul Eye" that three British girls, possibly the three London girls, are trying to escape their husbands - and possibly Isis (also known as Isil or Islamic State).

I should probably feel more sympathetic than I do, but you reap what you sow, make your bed and lie in it, etc. Schadenfreude.

Murderous jihadis don't make sensitive, caring husbands. Who'd have thunk it?

Feel a bit sorry for these girls, if it is them; their idealistic naiveté has landed them in some very hot water indeed.

Internet savvy? So they could use Facebook and Twitter?

They clearly didn't know what they were getting into, hence the being on the run bit.

Utter idiots. If they do make it back. I trust the British government will have them locked up and rightly so.

Or they deluded themselves. Either way, tough.

Utter morons. I'd have little sympathy. At 16 you're old enough to have enough cop on to realise jetting off to a warzone to marry some bloodthirsty zealot is not a great idea. This is Darwinism at work.

At 16 they did. They knew what ISIS was, everyone does, the atrocities they commit, filming beheadings and putting them online etc. Those girls made a conscious choice. Being young and stupid goes so far. They made their bed, good luck to them. My sympathy ended when it was reported they had crossed into IS controlled territory.

Ah the things I used to get away with when I was 16. Smoking behind the shed in school, sharing a single can of larger between 5 of us in the field, hiding that "cholocate salty balls" CD from my mother, joining a bad of murderous, rapist religious fundamentalists. Its crazy the things we used to do at 16. Live and learn I guess.

I totally agree. But I'm not going to take any pleasure in the situation they now find themselves in, like the OP.

Still baffled as to why any self-respecting female would see any appeal in the Muslim faith.

Thankfully no Irish people have ever been stupid, dangerously reckless and easily seduced by a manipulative war machine, so we can gleefully wallow in their comeuppance.

Kids who were smart enough to know exactly what they were going over to and then travelling over there. So trying to excuse this as childhood naivety is ridiculous. **** em, I hope their jolly goat ****ing husbands catch up with them.

They should not under any circumstances be let back into the UK. This could all be a plan to get back and work for ISIS. I can't imagine it would be that easy to escape from where they were for one person let alone 3. Something isn't right. They should not be trusted.

Oh god yes, more, say more!

But hurry though, my mother will be home soon and I don't want her catching me during my daily "joy in misery" ****.

She wouldn't understand like we do.

Have you never heard of Irish people joining the British Army?

Apparently they were brainwashed by their older brother

Just like a case closer to home whose elder siblings brainwashed a "revolutionary "

The best thing that can happen is they end up back in the UK, and have a tearful interview with Lorraine or similar TV figure.

If they have broken a UK law then let the court decide their punishment.
