thanks for you response. I would though, call it ganged up on, if anybody says no to the yes campaign.

No problem, sorry to hear you see it that way. That's your view and ill respect you are entitled have your own view. .

To be honest I don't think the problem is as such if someone would say they are voting No, but it's a discussion thread so of course the reason behind a yes or no vote is discussed. But it's not required to read the thread or discuss it thankfully. Bit like TV I suppose, if i don't like the channel, I change it. But that's just me.

Do you think Paddy Power would give odds on who ****s up their kids more (per capita?) Same-sex married parents or opposite-sex married parents?

On the one hand I think gay parents have to go through a lot to win a child. There's surrogacy, adoption rules, paying lots of money, etc. which takes a lot of homework. And I think gay couples for the first few years would be more conscious of messing up. Straight couples can win a child any night of the week (most of them anyway, not the ones who have to go through adoption or surrogacy, the poor craters.) And they're really practiced at messing up children. You could say they're naturals!

But balancing that is the fact that everyone is human. And kids are thick as planks who'll mess up their own lives no matter what the parents do.

"Straight couples can win a child any night of the week"
lol, you make it sound like a raffle prize.

I'm a very proud father of two and my kids live in a "gay" household with gay parents. No homework was required BTW to have the kids either.

But not much of anything either of us just said has any relation to SSM

    No problem.

Modern media tends to always do whatever they think will get viewers and sell papers and unfortunately are (in my view) less and less representative of the population.

I have not like you say, seen them in any population and if i did, it wasn't that they wanted to be married like a man and a woman. I can fill in details if you want me to.

Well you know let's think about that for a moment.
I've lived and worked in The Netherlands/Denmark/UK and France myself BTW.

Your saying" I have not seen all these one sex wanting to get married."

To be honest your right, neither have I. Then again not all straight couples want or do get married, however giving them the choice to do so is exactly that a choice. When we then say maybe at tops 10 % of the population would be gay, maybe at tops 4-5 % openly gay or part of the LGBT and from that even is we say most would want to get married so let's say 3 % . 3 % from a population is very small number so it figures even in countries that allow gay marriage we would see very little of it.

Just because only a few would use a right does (I feel) not mean we should exclude them from having that right to choose.

I did not edit your reply. How rude to say that, I was writing my reply and quoted yours. If you edited yours before anyone posted whilst I was wrting my reply it would not show as edited.

    Win ? win what.

Anyhow my reply to you stands and if you don't want to answer it that fine, be grow-up and just say that.

I edited this twice does not show see how it works.

Interesting revelationfrom a 3 year old tweet in which no campaigner Kate Bopp supported Clint Eastwood's support for gay marriage.

Then live nice and stop being abusive. You sound repulsive. Give a little instead of expecting a lot.

Cris really now. Your not answering the questions posted to you and your responses and replies are simply beneath you and not constrictive debate or discussion.

I thought for a while you wanted to actually talk and discuss SSM guess I was wrong.

I have more to give to this state than you..

The country has no need for the likes of you anymore..

Feck off back to the 1900's and leave us that live in the 2000's alone..

I really don't think it's popular to suggest that all newly borns are sent to central holding. Applicants for the children are assessed and the newly borns are dispensed to parents or parent on a ratio of ability to care and provide, to crap filled nappies filling up central holding.

Now, in an ideal world central holding with have the results of bad parents shoveling the nappies into a incendiary disposal unit but they probably have their notions of applying for childer of their own.

I guess the referendum isn't about going on Winning Streak and spinning the wheel for children.

Can anyone explain as to why there is an election?

The consistution currently has equality and doesn't say marriage is between male and female.

The 2004 civil partnership bill says marriage is between male and female , this could be changed over night.

The 2015 family and relationship bill looks after adoption etc and lets same sex couples adopt among other stuff.

So why the vote? Why not just change the bill?

Because the Courts have interpreted the constitution to say Marriage is between a man and a woman

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I see Breda O'Brien is now backtracking totally on her challenge to Panti Bliss for a debate. What a pathetic and cowardly organisation this so called Iona Institute is.
