    Hello

Bought a shift dress for an upcoming occasion. It's above the knee so not super short but I'm not use to skirts at all so a bit self conscious.

Was thinking of wearing some kind of tight shorts underneath - like cycling ones but not as long.

Anything out there that would be recommended?

F+F at Tesco's have a nice one in stock, Magic seamfree shaper shorts -[ not that you require shaping] -. Dunne's have a ''panelled brief'' which is nice too,, ans has a nice lace detail on the leg. Both are available in black, which might suit the self conscious person.----

But if you're not used to wearing skirts, maybe, if time allows, wear one when an appropriate oppertunity presents itself. Then, when the day of your occasion arrives, you can wear your dress with the sexiest knickers you can find -- and be brimming with confidence.

Tights also help a lot, you know the heavy type (if they work with the dress). I wear a skirt or dress almost every day but always with heavy tights, otherwise I'd feel a bit naked :o

I'm sure you will look great!

I always feel the need to wear something under skirts or dresses. If it's chilly out I wear tights or if it's nice and warm, i wear little shorts. Forever 21 do ones in their basics range which only cost €3.50 and i find perfect.
