Which places are the cheapest? In particular Beamish, but anything else too

Best pub for getting hammered: Preachers pint of the day €3. They also have Budweiser, Heineken, Heineken extra cold, Bulmers, Carlsberg, Tiger and Fosters for €3.50 a pint. Staropramen and Hoegaarden are €4.30 a pint. The Heineken is grand, The Staropramen is never great there (my beer of choice if I can get it).

Best pub for pints imo: Callanans has Beamish for €2.90, Heineken is €3.90, Short + Mixer (EG: Gin & Tonic) is ~€4.75. Murphys is ~€3.60. The quality of the pints in Callanans is exceptional, the Heineken is as good as their Beamish too. They only have Three taps (Heineken, Beamish, Murphys).

2.75 for fosters in the old bar in UCC. Bit out tho, and a bit dingey. Most places are doing 3 quid pints of fosters now. But Suas above captain americas does 3 quid pints of everything up until a certain time im not sure of. And they've the the outside roof to sit outside. Handy out.

The Brog does €3 all pints every day until 11pm and Billy Fuds on Marlboro st is €3 all pints until 8pm.

As mentioned Preachers also does cheap pints, as does The Star on Western Road (albeit Becks & Coors Light IIRC)

Callanans is a great pub, but its a nice quite pub with no TV. Not the place you'd go if you were going on a mad one.

Decided to bump this in the hope of getting up to date info, with wetherspoons opening in July I would imagine they will be the cheapest, but is there any real value to be had in the city for a night out right now?

Spotted The Edison have a happy hour between 6-7pm Sunday to Thursday where pints are €3, looked like the standard stuff ie Bud, Heineken etc.

Isn't it illegal to have a "Happy Hour" now?

Yes, since August 2003 it is illegal in Ireland to sell alcohol at reduced prices for a limited period during any day.

Quite right, i would regularily drink the proper swingtop bottles of grolsch when i can get them, the pint of grolsch for 3.50 in the woodford is an excellent price for a very nice pint.

€4 a pint of cask ale in Fran Well, sure sure, not crazy cheap and yes, you would have to drink the same thing all night to save a euro a pint, but on a positive note: beers served at near-room-temperature will likely get you ripped faster. :pac:

Is Callinans sub €3 for a Beamish still ?

If you're a paid up Beoir member (€10 a year) the cask is €3 a pint.
Can't beat a lovely cool glass of Irish cask ale for €1.50. Makes me very happy.

The rising sun brewery are doing a pint + pizza for 10eur. The pizzas are good so if you say they are 7.50 worth the pint works out at 2.5 (although only their own beer - but it's awesome!).
