A Ryanair 737 over Donegal at the moment, flying from Seattle to Dublin!

    I presume it's a delivery of a new plane?

It was planned for SNN, not a diversion. :)

08:50 a pair of Loganair SAABs positioning south down the Irish Sea. Wonder where they're heading...

Edit: into Dublin to operate this service back north:
    Macrihanish Loganair LOG841 03 May 09:30

Golfing trip perhaps? Heck of a day for it, raining solidly.

Just came across something interesting on Twitter about the Cabana/euroatlantic flight at SNN. It burst a tyre apparently on landing. The airline sent no instruction to organise accommodation or anything for the stranded pax still at the airport. SNN took pity on them and has fed them all!

thejournal.ie have picked up on it - http://www.thejournal.ie/shannon-plane-stranded-2082541-May2015/?utm_source=facebook_short

I find that specific news outlet to be quite unbiased and fair. They have done reports on everywhere. Don't they have 2 reporters on trial in the Muslim country of Egypt?

Anyway that's besides the point. You will he a hell of a long time waiting for a Dreamliner crash, these planes are built to be extremely safe. Of course, Boeing have a funny way of showing this by not being able to sort out that bloody battery issue.

I thought the battery issue was sorted and Airbus implemented the same procedure, or vice versa, dunno were I read that, i'll have to go trawling for it now

I think it is sorted, but didn't they have to fix it twice before it was?

The battery issue is not 'fixed' as such. It has been addressed by seperating and containing the batteries. So if a battery fire does occur it will be prevented from spreading.
Airbus looked at what happened to Boeing and decided to switch back to Ni-Cad batteries for the A350. They have kept the option of integrating Li-On batteries in the future if/when the tech becomes more reliable.
