Considering one father doesn't have equal rights as a parent....it's laughable to be looking at the rights of 2....only in Ireland!!!!

Without doubt...the cart before the horse

Family law bill has dealt with a lot of those issues

Would you be in favour of state imposed fertility tests as a pre-requisite for marriage then? I suspect I won't be answered.

The only genuine answer someone who opposes gay marriage on the grounds of procreation can give you is yes, unless they're either complete liars or complete idiots. I'm not normally that abrupt but I can't see it any other way.

Assuming you're correct that the rights of fathers need to be reformed (I won't argue that there's some problems there) and assuming you're correct that said reform is more important than marriage equality... what, in the ****, is your point?

This vote is before us now. We must vote on the merit of this issue. If you want to campaign for another issue, instigate change, make a difference on it, then go do that. How is this referendum stopping you?

Out of interest, what have you done to campaign for Father's rights?

Let's just wait and see the legal quagmire with 2 daddy's in court. I obviously know better than you!!!

I know a father despite a child being the image of the chap he says it's not his and the mothers is a tramp yet he won't go get a DNA test to make sure so how people think that child would be better with a prick like that for a father because he is biologically. Rather than say a loving gay couple or his mother who is a single mother and is bring him up is beyond me well I know what it is a loads bollocks......

Yup, I know a guy who's parents refused to split up. All I'm going to say is I left after a week in shock. The guy himself was severely mentally traumatised. That was with a heterosexual couple.

Relationship breakdown is totally different to that of two people wanting to make their family unit stronger.

If you told us what you have done to campaign for fathers rights, that might help to educate us.

That doesn't address any part of my post. If I say there's "loads of problems" does that make you more likely to make your point clear?

Single fathers are second class citizens..and to think that the junk that runs this country would prioritise ironing out the issues with same sex couples above the rights of genetic parents is reduculous

Oh, so it's a jealousy thing.

The gays got more sweeties than the single fathers. (stomp).

You do realise the two issues are not mutually exclusive?

What a good point. I think I'll vote no on the basis of your clear logic and eloquently expressed point of view :)

Nice remarks...but no. A bit more straight forward than that..

Would you be one of those loo lahs on boards trying to ram your agenda down people's throats?

MOD - Can you get this back on topic rather than digging at each other.

We could have two daddy's in court - regardless of whether or not SSM is voted in. There are already almost 300 families in Ireland with Same Sex parents. You don't have to be married to have children.
