What if you bully you to vote no? Will you vote yes then?

Vote no or I'll write something terrible about you.

Hard to know how much of an influence the leader of the brown shirts had. The others in the party seemed to blame him for a lot of it.

Oh I suspected they might be but there are some posters who genuinely follow that line of thought so I won't delete my post. :p

Yeah, there's a lot of good examples of Poe's Law here.

I have been doing a bit of polling and canvassing in my locals in recent times and have been surprised on a number of fronts.
Some people come right out and say they are voting no and don't give a sh1te. They are not interested in discussion, that's just how they are going to vote, end of story.
One cranky auld boll1x who I would have definitely had on the no side is actually voting yes and spent a good hour on Friday night explaining to the assembled the valid reasons for voting yes and why the 'no' arguments did not hold water.
One friend of mine is voting no, he knows all the reasons for voting yes and has no valid reason for voting no but is doing so.
Another was in the no camp: surrogacy, adoption etc. When I clarified the situation, he was surprised but also annoyed that these options are currently available to all. He is on the fence at the moment. Surprisingly, his brother is gay.

Anyway, do not take anything for granted. This referendum will rely heavily on the youth and on a high turnout.

Get out there and educate people.

I'm looking forward to seeing the breakdown of votes. I wonder which county will be the most resistant to change?

I have been outside the country for most of the elections/referenda of the past few years. The vote in May will be my first time voting and I will be in the Yes camp.

    Equality for all.

Ernst Rohm was gay. I don't want Ireland to turn into Nazi Germany. Do you?

    Donegal. It's always Donegal.

Find some clip art of a sad looking child and some A2 size boards and you've got yourself a new No Campaign poster.

It'll be great for the economy! Same sex couples will be able to enter their married life with the same crushing debt, as their mixed sex couples have held onto solely for far too long!

Hotels will be busier, there'll be loans galore, car hire companies will boom, kids will be dropping out of school after they do the junior to become tailors, not labourers. Menus will be come more flamboyant, and wedding planners will become rockstars. There'll be fecking glitter everywhere!

If that's not a good enough reason to vote yes/no, I dunno what is!

But tonight I say, we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

You forgot to mention the legal profession creaming it from the increase in divorces that will inevitably follow also.

Maybe the No voters can retreat there and set up their theocratic Catholic state when all's said and done.

Yes, the law society of Ireland have been blasting us all with gay rays to get us to agree to gay marriage so that they can make a fortune from us when gay divorce becomes the latest trendy thing for the rainbow flag flying PC brigade to do. The dastardly bastids…

What annoys me the most about the No campaign is that their posters are so misleading. The referendum changes nothing in relation to gay couples becoming parents!! this could lead to people voting no due to being misinformed!

I personally will be voting yes and sincerely hope it is passed.

So many posters are choosing to live up to the negative gay stereotyping with their behaviour. The following video keeps popping into my mind when I read this thread.

Vote yes or I'll slap you soooooo super hard!!!
