    I'd say that extra business such as this is what's keeping many post offices open. Only for social welfare payments & to a lesser extent AIB transactions are what has helped keep many open especially in rural areas. If they were to stick to selling stamps, weighing parcels, tv licence, post office savings account transactions & the odd prize bond a hell of a lot more would have shut down than have already.
