You know the saying about oak & ash?
"If the oak before the ash, then we'll only have a splash, if the ash before the oak, then we'll surely have a soak"

I see the oak was in bloom two weeks ago & the ash only popped out on Friday. Everyone else the same?

We were bringing the them to Birmingham last weekend and the youngest lad was so excited /nervous about flying to Thomasland that he started retching going up the steps of the plane ! We got a fair few looks alright and it got worse with take off when he started shouting as loud as he could "we're flying, we are actually up in the sky now mom "☺

Well something is going right. I've been talking to a merchant closer to home, getting a better ration for less, and can get gran lime for less, all delivered, do have to horse it out of a van but that's ok.

    Same.
And the queuing in the airport.

That's one of the reasons why we've holidayed by ferry for the last 12 years. Planning a plane trip next year , long haul, but youngest will be seven and well able to travel.

    Ya, it's not really cheap.
Were paying ~€1400 this year peak season to France.

But this includes travel (obviously), two nights accommodation , no car hire as we have car with us, bring caravan for that too which saves about €1000/1200 on campsite accommodation 4 o us - 16 night holiday travel and accommodation for €2100, 4 star campsites have excellant waterparks so no waterparks fees, also direct access to beach & cycle tracks.
Oh, we bring our bikes so that's two weeks bike hire saved, maybe another €3/400.

Buckets, spades, wetsuits, body boards,, picnic stuff all with us.

We usually just go to the relations in England. It's usually cheaper to fly and hire a car over there than to get the ferry but would love to get the ferry. If only I wasn't such a tight arse :o

+1 on all of the above, and you can bring back anything you see that catches your fancy. Try getting an antique mirror onto a Ryanair flight......:D

And if your work schedule allows you to be flexible, ferries midweek can be a couple hundred cheaper each way.

Just looking at some of the photos from Nepal and Mt. Everest. We complain about the weather here but compared to other parts of the world we're very lucky in not having to deal with extreme weather and geological events.
