. . I am somewhat apprehensive about using heart rate monitor training for one or two reasons. First, I tend to over-think my running and I think adding another layer of information may prove detrimental. Now, I could be completely wrong in saying that. I am taking a new direction soon enough so I will not sell the monitor just yet (in case!). I do like the idea of running easy by heart rate but for me it's a mentality thing. It's about instilling discipline into my easy days.
