Creosoted a few lengths of timber today for a gazebo. If I get another chance in the next few days to give them another coat would there be any point?

I soaked rough-cut planking in creosote back in about 1990. Had them already sawn to length for Yorkshire Boarding for a slatted shed.
Hot summers day, still get a whiff of them.

Would you not just buy pretreated timber? Cresote is dirty stuff. Smell wise and also stick toyour clothes etc. I wouldn't put it on a dog house.
