I seen a documentary where if you have 20 million dollars you can have a 5 year bomb shelter built, anywhere in the world. Think about that though, 5 years underground by yourself? Could you make it?

Ireland being a neutral country we probably wouldn't get attacked directly but the food and soap would be in very short supply. What would you do then. I heard stories of during the famine people eating each other. We probably all have a cannibal in our family tree.

I heard a comedian say he'd rather be killed in the nuclear fires than have to rebuilt society, how difficult would that be.

I seen an SAS survival book in easons I might go and buy it.

His name was David, something, used to feature a lot on QI. He's a English comedian and funny too.

I think it is optimistic to think that Ireland wouldn't be attacked. Northern Ireland would certainly be a target and at the very least this would impact on the rest of the island. I wouldn't fancy living near an airport either anywhere in Ireland in the event of WW3!!

Depends if you believe the American view, Mad Max walking dead feast on the goo inside nonsense. Or it going back to small communities trading and all that.

Am aware Mad Max is Australian.

To be honest if some parts of Ireland like Leitrim and Longford were bombed. It would make a significant improvement

Maybe bomb parts of Tipperary too and how can I forget the biffos. Id leave Kerry alone due to their valiant efforts in keeping drink driving alive

Ireland's neutrality won't mean anything. Ireland was somewhat saved because of the relatively close ties that existed between Germany and Ireland. However if there is a WW3 then it will likely not be any nation in Europe that are on the aggressor - my bets are on Russia, North Korea, China, or even a united Muslim army, so there will likely be zero ties.

And to be honest, I don't think I'd want to survive if there ever was one. WW3 won't be like anything that has come before and I wouldn't be surprised if there is nuclear weapons involved. On a scale that will make Hiroshima and Nagasaki look like mere firecrackers.

I probably wouldn't survive WW3, and neither would you.

Would be stocking up on the human flavour too...less of a shock to the system when you inevitably have to go cannibal.

Sounds easier to just die. Although I'd imagine many Irish men would enlist with the European American allied forces.

"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Einstein.

So I'd collect up all the sticks and stones and then sell them after as the largest arms company in the world and be super rich.

How do you know Ireland wouldn't get attacked? attacked by whom exactly also?? If it was an Islamic world vs western world war then Ireland could easily be attacked..dublin is a west european capital with a population of well over a million could definitely be targeted!
