Things that instantly turn you off films

For me its when a narrator introduces the characters. You often see this in gangster films.

"This is Tony, he works at the casino. He's a mad bastard."

It usually pauses for a moment and then the characters name comes up on the screen. The only film I ever liked that did this was Snatch because it was funny and I like Jason Statham's voice.

Fractured story telling is another one that annoys me. I don't like it when a film constantly goes back and forth. I just start to loose interest in it.

I'd agree with all of those except for Zach. I like him.

When people make a film that is an obvious rip off of something else, such as Snakes On A Train or this thread.

    Nicolas Cage.

Any film that has 'Get ready for the funniest/biggest/scariest/most exciting movie of the year' as a promo tagline is invariably crap.

The presumption that the audience are slow witted. For example the need to have a 10 second close up on the business card left on the table that reads "Mrs Badguy". Just let it be seen in passing. We don't need it focused on with the sudden "dun dun dun!!" music kicking in. We're not idiots. And even if we are or we're maybe not paying too much attention or whatever right at that moment, we'll pick it up due to, you know, the entire rest of the movie. And maybe, just maybe, we'll want to watch your film a second time at some point. That's what you should want, no? Us to watch your film? You dirty fvcking sh1tbag! Not everything has to have all the interestingness (that's right, 'interestingness!) drained out of it in case one or two people in the cinema freak out at the fact they haven't understood something absolutely entirely and start flinging their excrement at the screen. Just make the movie you actually want to make! Just have the tiniest shred of artistic integrity you prick.

Ah c'mon very different topic. I know cars don't explode on impact but it's not going to turn me off a film. If people were turned off by lies in films we'd only watch documentaries.

On topic I don't usually like gangster films or Zooey Deschanel

Pre 1990 Cage rocked. Actually, any Cage film with rock in the title also rocked. After that, yeah you're right.

If you are going to watch a bad film ...it has to be epic bad....There are two types of people in this world......... those who haven't seen The Room, and those that have truly lived.
If you haven't seen The Room or its accompanying multimedia material....
NONE ...NO ONE NO ONE CAN BE TOLD WHAT TOMMY WISSEAU IS....YOU MUST SEE FOR YOURSELF...there are many theories ..is he like an Andy Kaufman?

He comes out with sweet drivel...
People say love is blind so maybe we should all close our eyes to be blind sometimes to see the love behind your eyes

YOU ARE TEARING ME APAHT LISA!! ..That is not a typo.

    :)

    Worst film ever.:)
