Favourite Music

Just wondering does anyone have any favourite music or composers of games, that they could listen on their mp3 or while driving?

I collect game soundtracks now and again and their are a few composers and songs I could listen in a playlist.

Examples would be:

An End, once and for all (ME3, Sam Hulick & Clint Mansell)

Extraction Point (MW2, Hans Zimmer)

Dragon Origins (DA:O, Innon Zur)

Just small example, could listen to these songs all day, some of them can be very moving such as the ME songs (from one, two or three) can really make your stop and think.

The above is particularly memorable for it's abrupt entrance into the game as you are making your way to Mexico for the first time. It catches you off guard.

I forgot about Halo, so many to choose from!!!

I think its a good sign for the gaming industry when serious film composers are making the music for games now.

Frog's Theme from Chrono Trigger. The Moon Theme from Ducktales.

Some great choices up there. I absolutely love the soundtrack from Advent Rising, all of the tracks are great, just trying to whittle down to my favorites is tough...

Even if the game isn't your thing, i'd still advise anyone to hunt down the soundtrack.

And obviously, the great Deus EX

There are others, like from MGS and FFVII, but they're the obvious ones and someone is sure to post them soon enough!

If you're looking for some proper Russian/Soviet sounding music, look no further than Freedom Fighters. Not only was it an excellent game, the soundtrack is fantastic.

As i've posted in the many other music related threads, this is, hands down, my favourite gaming related song ever! Perfectly captures the feel of the game, and a fantastic song to boot!

Has to be the most consistently posted thread on the games forum.
People then post replies with videos where I'm sure most don't listen to them in full even if they played the game, and definitely not if they've not played the game.

I like Papers please theme, as it suits the game well....but it's not something I'd listen to on my MP3 as it's more 'let's all go to the gulag' and depressing.

Personally I have Final Fantays themes, Metal Gears, Battlefield, Medal of Honor and some classic Street Fighter tracks

I was just thinking a yesterday that posts without videos embedded are really quite pointless. I'm not gonna go track it down just because someone mentioned it in a thread, at least if they post the video I can give it a listen. I've listened to most of the stuff in this thread, whether I knew the game or not.

I have't played the game yet. But this is at the Level of hearing One Winged Angel for the first time. Jesus Christ the last two minutes when I first heard left me breathless. Starting from 4.40.

This song just says modern day California and pensive melancholy about modern life in general. I wish you could listen to the original soundtrack in game (using a radio station for example). The wanted level music is 1984 Terminator inspired and I can't get enough of it.

The Hotline Miami soundtracks, have both on my phone. Great music to listen too when coding.

Nintendo do music better than anyone. Mario and zelda sounds and music still bring a smile to my face.

Other than that, ff7 had a great soundtrack, as did the halo and gears of war games.
