FR24 mixing up alot of the Airport schedules lately, EI385 is listed as EI387, so EI387 is always listed as landed at around 4:40pm rather than the scheduled 9pm.

It mixes up the times for Alicante and FMM at Shannon on Saturdays.

It mixes up the Stobarts at ORK and DUB sometimes.

Its mixing up Malaga and Gdansk at ORK today.

    Starting to get annoying.

I also have a counter argument,

-"I paid for it, I expect it to Fcuking work!"

Not just you - the investors that have poured money into Flightradar 24 AB over the past couple of years did so on the provisio that it would move from being an enthusiast toy to a mainstream travel tool.

If they continue to mess-up basic details about flights people are taking, then travelers will lose trust in it.

We used to be able to submit corrections but now 'computer knows better'.

Was listening to ATC this afternoon , heard a call sign Irish (cant remember the numbers) cleared for runway 29 ??? Nothing no FR24 . Was this a helicopter?

I cant remember the numbers in the call sign?
Could Dub tower be giving clearance to land at Baldonnell?

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 26,403 Mod ✭✭✭✭Peregrine

Doubt it. It was probably in the mix.

I think I'll delete my post later, wouldn't want the BAL guys finding out :)

How do you mean in the mix? I am sure it was the same controller that was giving direction for landings @ 10 this afternoon.

Most likely SAR heli landing, or aircraft being towed for parking.

It was definitely a landing. I did here it being cleared from del to the tower and also descent clearance.

Whenapproaching from the north, north east and north west the rescue helicopters use the old approach for 29 and are cleared to land on it/hover along it and then down 16/34 into the SAR hangar. When approaching from all other directions they usually hold just off the south of RWY 28/10 and they get cleared to cross it and hover along the mikes onto 16/34 to the SAR hangar.

Lately the ground vehicles are now listed. They were there previously but they were listed as little yellow jets.

hi all, I looked back and couldn't see this question so hopefully know one has asked it, I do be following the air corps on flight radar 24 and have noticed from time to time there aircraft just disappear of the screen and then re appear a while later, why does this happen is it security issue ?

Its usually due to the aircraft losing signal. Sometimes though it could just be a Flight radar 24 error.

Have a look at the MLAT part. The receivers will often lose the aircrafts transponder signal below about 5000 ft. This rarely happens around Dublin for example as the area is very well covered by MLAT receivers. Have a look at some older aircraft going into Shannon and you'll notice they disappear in the decent.

However saying all that the Air Corp operate at low level for some sorties and the Casa's may not be transponding if they are "observing" something out at sea. Don't want any nefarious characters using a mobile phone app to track where the aircrafts position is:D

Given that you heard the 'Irish' call sign would indicate that it was an Air Corps Aircraft, and not a SAR helicopter as others have suggested.

The Learjet can often be heard speaking to Dublin on their descent back to Baldonnel. It would appear that the approach is coordinated by Dublin and then handed over to Baldonnel.

Quite possibly what you heard was the Learjet or Casa cleared for a VOR approach to runway 29 at Baldonnel.

An-12 landing at Prestwick 14:15, in from Gothenburg.

Might be worth keeping an eye / ear out should it continue on to the south-west.
