Katie Hopkins - Outspoken or just vile?

I came across the above article and not it the literal sense today. She's not necessarily being compared to Hitler, but someone who'd make him blush.

“Rescue boats? I’d use gunships to stop migrants”. That was The Sun's headline, written apparently without concern.

She then refers to migrants in Calais who try to board trucks heading to Britain as “a plague of feral humans”.

I really don't know why she gets published at all. Maybe it generates sales for the Sun, but I've never seen that paper as anything other than an absolute rag and waste of good paper. In subtle, backhanded fashion, she also takes a swipe at the Australians as well.

She proposes an Australian approach to migrants on boats. “They threaten them with violence until they bugger off, throwing cans of Castlemaine in an Aussie version of sharia stoning”.

Why can't we just strap this woman to the next rocket heading to Space and leave there. I for one wouldn't miss the vile piece of work.

People should just ignore her. Nothing clever in saying controversial things for the sake of it anyone can do that if they want.

She only half the sh1t she says to get publicity and notoriety. And it works. She got a big fat pay check from celebrity big brother because of it.

I think she's vile but I have honestly no idea what type of person she is. She created a job for herself being a female Jeremy Clarkson. Except worse. She's a mother and could actually just be placing food on the table.
However, creating that kind of job does indicate that she's probably not the nicest or sanest person.

A horrible, obnoxious, self-serving, unfeeling cow. I feel bad for what her kids probably put up with, you'd imagine she'd factor in the sort of comments her children might have to hear about their mum before she opens her bigoted gob.

Or maybe she just believes she gives voice to what people secretly thing, and is just saying it like it is, being blunt, etc., etc...

She has some valid points it has to be said. However it seems like her main aim is to just upset and offend whoever she can in order to remain relevant. If the only way she can pay her bills is by being an obnoxious bully then that's her prerogative.

I always get the feeling that she barely believes much of what she says and she just does it to hang on to the infamy and make a few quid out of it. I don't think she even thinks about the comments and its more of a case of its time I got my name in the papers again I need to up the ante and say something really repugnant.

I agree with your comments about her kids, hopefully they don't get tarred by association. Cant be easy having an infamous parent.

She is vile yes. However some of the things she says, you can guarantee she isn't the only person thinking it. I that is why she continues to do it. Her views on dole scroungers for example, I would say many might agree with her.

That's understandable, but people like might provide a reasonable solution to social issues instead of offering to machine gun the lower classes to save money.

She's an actor playing an outspoken vile character. I watched her on Big Brother last year and sometimes she would be trying to grab some attention by saying something outrageous. Some others would try to insert a bit of reason into the chat and she just ignored them.

People pay her to say outrageous things. Nobody is going to pay her to go on a talk show to give a considered, nuanced, balanced opinion. It's the same as Bill O'Reilly and the likes.

Her job is probably one of the least fruitful and productive in the world yet she makes a fortune doing it. This tells us one thing. She has an audience.

It is her audience that are more worrying e.g. celebrity big brother watching sun and glossy magazine reading people who want to feel a little better about themselves by being able to reference a bigger gob****e.
