    So what's the average weight of your milkers and what do you think is the optimum size/weight of dairy cow for your farm?

    Never weighed the herd but I'd guess the average would be 650 here but a big range. especially with genomic sired heifers coming in sizes are varying more

    Have weighted the herd midseason for the last two years and the average herd weight was 460kgs in 2013 and 475kgs in 2014. Would have a very heavy farm so am happy with this size of cow. With a bit more maturing of the herd of imagine it'll hit 500kgs this season.
