    Great thread.

When I was a kid (and now) that common panopticism trope in popular culture, yarns. urban myths etc that involved zooming in on an innocent photo to reveal a mysterious figure observing from bushes or a window that had been hitherto unnoticed.

I even recently saw one online on somewhere like dangerous minds and even now it has the power to completely unnerve me in a deep way, even if obviously fake.

Or the whole "when you see it" stuff...

This is a great little video. It would make a creepy horror story if done right:

Some creepy pasta stories are funny, others are a bit chilling but then there's the outright disturbing. For a glimpse into the mind of a complete sicko you only have to read this creepy pasta and wonder who the author was. *It's an advert that was posted on a deep web site back in 2011.

Warning to those with a weak disposition, this is not for you.

*Remember, it's not real... it's just a story.

    That's pretty deranged alright.

Of course, had forgotten, that is pretty eerie alright.

And whatever about the theories that are out there, just the thought of the hotel guests drinking the water in which her body was decomposing...

Another bizarre one is the disappearance of Tara Calico, who went missing in 1988 aged 19. A year later a polaroid of two unidentified people seemingly bound on a bed turned up in a car park at a shopping mall. Her mother believes it is Tara...here is the pic, it's a bit disturbing...

While not Madeline McCann, I find this a bit disturbing too. http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/09815753597e.jpg

    Angelfire is still going?

Seriously though, great story. Very claustrophobic!

That was pretty good until the ending, which like so many of them was disappointing and takes from the creepiness of the earlier story

That suicide mouse can be made by putting a strong magnet against and old tele. There's a reflection of a man on the screen every now then.

    haven't read through the thread but incase nobody has mentioned them;

    Reddit "lets not meet" tag
    Reddit "no sleep" tag
    sixpenceee.tumblr.com
    creepypasta.wikia.com
    A movie called Lake Mungo
The Smiling Man creepypasta. There's a short movie somewhere that didn't do it much justice but I'm too lazy to find a link.

I'm such a pedant. That's good but I'd love to edit it a bit. :)

The cat/cadence thing and the end generally is very spooky.

Who put Bella in the Wych Elm is a bizarre one.

Kids playing in a tree in England in 1943 found a skull and some remains, pathologists said they had been placed in the trunk in 1941. But the victim was never identified, nor were her killers, and the theories ranges from witchcraft to espionage to teaching a drunk woman a lesson. At the time graffiti popped up asking "who put Bella in the wych elm?" suggesting someone knew something, and it also appeared again in recent years...

I don't know if it counts as creepypasta (although some people did believe it was real at the time), but I always liked Internet Story.

It's one of those things you read and your mind just can't process it. It's just a creepy pasta made to look like an advert posted on a forum. But then your mind starts going down the route of films like Hostel about these underground worlds and you wonder... But it's fake. It has to be.

I'm assuming it's fake, but what gets to me is that someone wrote it; it didn't magic itself into existence. Someone came up with that and deliberately presented it a certain way and that lives in someone's imagination. :(

Yeah, she let's herself down a bit.

What is fascinating about it all is the possible connection with the murder of Charles Walton just a couple of years after Bella's body was found, in the same part of England. That was always strongly linked with witchcraft...or more prosaically with a debt due.

I begin tucking him into bed and he tells me, “Daddy check for monsters under my bed.” I look underneath for his amusement and see him, another him, under the bed, staring back at me quivering and whispering, “Daddy there’s somebody on my bed.”

Another bizarre and unsettling one, suicide mouse...

I reckon that had a bit of an influence of worker and parasite or vice versa.
