We've heard all this "Republicans are evil Democrats are benign" nonsense before; being drip-fed the official party line of our own overlords is all very well, but isn't it not more than a little strange that so many are so eager to swallow the lies? Especially given the legacy of the past decade or so?

The American People, in their sovereign wisdom, will choose their own leaders.

Bill would be the first three time White House resident, all whilst not wearing the trousers.

Joint first time non trousers wearing White House resident

That's probably true. Also McCain is batsh1t crazy so saying Romney was to his right makes no sense.

McCain is possibly half-senile and I'm glad he didn't win...but he is not and never was the preferred candidate of the religious right. Which, ok, probably shows how right wing the religious right have become.

How boring is this going to be. Clinton V Bush. Yawn. Is it the nineties, is there nobody more interesting out there. Its also a pity that the first woman president is not going top get there because of her own ability but because of her husband.

If she win it would be the first time two presidents had sex in American history

And it would disprove the popular "Once you go black, you won't go back" theory.

I think you will find that her husband became president mainly due to her competencies so she is very deserving of the crown.

She may have helped behind the scenes but her public image was very unpopular at that point and her role in his first presidency was widely considered a disaster. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinton_health_care_plan_of_1993 )

But with the US economy being in good shape in the mid 90s, the world generally being peaceful, and the Republicans putting up the charisma-free Bob Dole, Clinton won easily in 1996.

She is the most horrible of political beasts,a truely detestable person so absorbed by a win at all costs mentality that her supporters call plucky. Dodging sniper fire in Bosnia? Bringing Peace to Northern Ireland ? She is the very epitome of a political chameleon who had no problems putting on a fakey Southern accent when speaking with Southern black women (despite being a Chicagoan) and when here Campaign falters against then senator Obama brought out the old racism handily enough.

Remember the witch-like cackle she publically left out upon hearing of Gadaffi's Death? Without realising that the same country would be her Waterloo within the Obama administration-who she hung out to dry as soon as the favouribility ratings suggested that Benghazi and the then unpopular administration would dampen her chance at Another White house bid.

McCain had the press scratching their beards, wondering aloud whether he was too old to run for president,Clinton will be only 3 years younger than he was when he ran, just don't bet on her age being mentioned much.

I would honestly prefer even the loopier fringe republicans than Clinton-better the devil you know-they may well be running because they are 1%ers,or for wall street,or even Jesus fanboys-but Clinton is doing it out of ambition and ego.

Count the amount of photo's you see with her on a podium, waving and pointing to some imaginery friend in the audience with her big gob agape, and she actually had the chance to do something with that big open mouth of hers Before and didn't.

Now what kind of man could trust a woman who won't do that?

The americans are nearly getting as bad as ourselves when it comes to self serving political dynasties. Apparently her daughter was thinking of getting into politics as well....

Not at all,to be critical of a Clinton would be more anti-reptillian than misogynistic and there simply is too few blow job jokes in AH :eek:

    ;)

She's pretty much evens-on to win already. Don't think folks would be comfortable with another Bush after all those out-take videos and 'vocal comedy sound-bites' from aul GW. Rand Paul certainly would shake things up a bit if he ever got any real support.

McCain was fairly tame but Romney was very much a conservative headbanger, he just looked moderate compared to the even more barmy opposition he was up against. Anyone would look relatively sane going up against the likes of Rick Santorum or Michele Bachmann.

McCain is anything but tame. The guy is a bloodthirsty warmonger.

He sure is, but in his political wranglings he has at least been able to see both sides of things. It was rumored that he wanted to run with Lieberman but was convinced by the Republican party and campaign organizers to bring on Pailin to win the female vote. But a warmonger, nonetheless.

It's a real shame Elizabeth Warren is not running.

I voted for Gary Johnson last time around, his goal was to get 5% of the vote to try and show growth to push acceptance for a third party...he failed.

I hope this US election follows in the fine tradition of mad campaigns. Great craic.

The concept of Hilary or Jeb being nominated makes something of a mockery of the democratic concept. Is it really likely that the best candidates will always come from one family? Then again, the Kennedys have been political royalty for decades.

She has two things in her favors. One is she's a Clinton, and has name recognition. The other is apparently that she has a vagina. Of the hundred thousand Democrats in the US, is she really the best female the party has to offer? She's been connected with scandal after scandal, from Benghazi to the email server. The only reason she has a shot of winning the Presidency is that the Republican party are absolutely insistent upon shooting themselves in the foot by nominating people who don't appeal to moderates, let alone anyone on the left. I'm on a couple of boards populated heavily by the further right, taking pride in the fact that they won't compromise their positions. Others are responding that they may also take pride in never reaching the White House again.

The thought of the US presidential elections dominating our media for the next 20 months is just depressing.

Hilary Clinton, the woman who told the Irish to support the invasion of Iraq, the woman who wanted to bomb Syria, asleep on the job when it came to Benghazi with many questions still hanging over the attack on the US embassy, the deleted emails.
The Republicans will have many a field day with her if she is the Democratic candidate.

I don't think it will be plain sailing, the right candidate for the Republicans and they will vote for change which isn't Mrs Clinton.
