My worst county is Monaghan and I live there!
Nothing but green fields as far as the eye can see? Add to the fact that it's lanlocked and it's some ****hole altogether. The whole county shoild be nuked. A nice new lake would be created and there'd be a boost in tourism.

I see your Moan...aghan & raise you Offaly.
A Kings County once famous for hurling & football All-Irelands, now only famous for a drunk Taoiseach & bogs.

Laois. Not only is it landlocked, but it also has the distinction of being the only county in Ireland that's surrounded by other landlocked counties. From a purely geographic perspective, it is therefore officially the worst county in Ireland.

Yes I agree, all the landlocked counties, don't really have anything to be honest.

Every county has it's own charm. Ireland is class, every last square mile of our beautiful island.

Offaly closely followed by Longford which in turn is followed by laois.

Longford. So bad it doesn't even make a list of the worst counties.

In fairness, not every square mile of Offaly is class.

Why's Donegal lumped in with Leitrim?

I see Leitrim and Donegal have decided to unionise and become 1 county over all....

I think you can only have 25 options in a poll here. The northern counties in general didn't fair too well.

    Leitrim. Thread closed

Still doesn't excuse lumping Donegal in with Leitrim...

Leitrim and Longford may have been a more just lump

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,678 ✭✭✭jjbrien

No idea why Dublin is polling so high. Its got mountains, the sea, howth head, Malahide Castle, Dun Laoighre, and lots of other nice places.

Less a county, but more what lies north of "The Wall". Inhabited by Wildlings and susceptible to extremely harsh winters.

    It's horrible
