Change the gender of characters to make movies worse.

Was just thinking about the Graduate, in which a middle-aged woman seduces a teenage boy. Can you imagine if it became a middle-aged man seducing a teenage girl?

So, AH, what other movies would be made worse if the genders of characters were changed?

Lolita, wasn't the worst film I've ever seen.

As for a movie that could only be made worse if the genders were changed?

Every chick-flick ever made. Imagine Sex and the City with men? Beaches? Thelma and Louise?

Imagine Platoon with women? That'd be one hell of an awkward movie to watch.

    Three men and a baby.

    Billy Elliot.

Billi wants to take up ballet. Her father encourages her as he feels wanting to do ballet is a perfectly fine thing for a girl to want to do.

Disagree with nearly all the posts, most movies could be just as good with either gender if done right. If Rocky was done with girls could still be just as good if you had seen that as the original.

The action genre is probably the one of the only would I'd say might lose out and that's just down to the realism, for example imagine Die Hard, not the most realistic movie anyway, if all the male characters become female you'd probably find the plot a bit too outrageous. Though saying that I still think it could be done, just would take a lot more effort.

Crime movies are another, again though it's only down to realism, there wasn't women running the Mafia so having them lead the Godfather or Goodfellas would be too unbelievable.

Benjamin Braddock was 21 years old in the movie The Graduate and Dustin Hoffman (who played him) was 30 years old. Anne Bancroft who played the older woman was 36 years old in real life.
