Surely they give you some kind of guidance as to what to put in the letter?

The statement must be approximately 600 words
It must explain why you wish to undertake the programme and how it fits in to your career objective?

    That's easy. :D

    How about this:

200 words on your background (work history, interests, why have you an interest in this course, etc.)

200 words on why you want to study this course (general IT industry in Ireland, specific subjects that interest you, etc.)

200 words on why you think you would do well (e.g. are you a mature student, if so, why would you be suited, convince them that you would give 100%)

Write it in the first-person, e.g. "I believe that..." and "I have..." etc. and avoid simplistic words such as "good" "nice" . Oh, and nothing negative whatsoever, e.g. "I am on the dole 20 years and I badly need this".

    Does that help?

    PM me if you want.
