I bought drill and angle grinder from a rep fella that I contacted.
That must be 12 years ago, still working perfectly, and they get good going.
Fairly expensive at the time, but worth it.
As my granny used to say, "I can't afford to buy cheap things"

Have you any products that you just won't go cheaper on? Only the best/most expensive for you? :)

    Toothpaste

This is the main one for me. Store brand toothpaste is not to be trusted.

Has to be snack foods, maybe its because i'm so used to them but non branded crisps or tortias just don't cut it the same as tayto, king or doritos do.

It must be a sub standard factory making the supermarket ownbranded ones that makes all the difference.

    Durex

I actually find Durex to be one of the worst and overpriced brand of condoms out there.

Back on topic, has to be aftershave. Never ever will I use a cheap brand.

Chocolate-I've tried Lidl and Aldi and I just don't like it.
Loo roll-Only Charmin will do for me.
Toilet Duck-Only one I like as it's scented.
    Ham-I only eat Denny ham.

Apart from that, I'm not fussy.

Nescafé coffee. I'll buy everything else own-brand if I have to, but not coffee.

Ninja edit, should not be trying to read threads while cutting the grass. Carry on

And who are you buying them for?:)

Very correct about the aftershave fwiw.

Well.. obviously for myself. After I started to realize how bad they were, I started to try others.

Worst: the ones in Lidl. Broke first time I used them.
Best: Skins. Usually but them online and they work out to be substantially cheaper.

    Gillette razors.

If I don't have my Sensor or Mach 3 and need to buy disposables then it's Gillette Blue II or nothing.

Bic and Wilkinson Sword shred the shit out of my face.

I'll compromise on pretty much anything else but if I don't have Gillettes then I'm not shaving until I get them.

Not for the people who measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk and cut with an axe.

    I'm the opposite.

Always Wilkinson Sword, don't trust Gillette. The ads. They're just soooooooooo awful.

    donegal creameries milk

Although I can compromise on this (as long as it's full fat), there's something very homely about it. Can't afford to keep buying it but it's the quality milk for special occasions. Did you know the organic milk in Lidl is from Donegal Creameries?

Can't compromise on Lyons tea, Heinz ketchup, and cereal.

    Barry's tea

    Heinz ketchup

    Pet food

    Barry's tea

    Heinz ketchup

    Pet food

What is this "pet" brand and what type of food do they make?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,063 ✭✭✭Kiwi in IE

Kerastase shampoo and conditioner. I gave a cheaper brand a six week trial and my hair was mank.

Appliances. Bosche, Miele etc. expensive to buy initially but you will have it for the same amount of time you would go through 5 crappy cheap ones.

Definately pet food. Brands from pet shop/vet only.

It includes a few different ones that I find suit my several individual pets of differing species, ages and medical conditions and I doubt anyone much cares about an itemised list.

But I'm sure you understood the gist of that already.

I buy the best possible quality for the lowest possible price, doesn't bother me what name is on it when it comes out of the factory.
Same here, some peoples minds are seemingly already made up before they try something, they should try some blind tastings.

The OP's wording suggested he automatically considers all own brands to be inferior
Own brand anti dundruff shampoo ain't worth a cuss imo. Head & Shoulders only for me.

Why not say "other brands of anti dandruff"

Tesco finest brown sauce is better than any others I have had, I think its the most expensive in tesco too though. But to me its still the best value for money.
