Strawberries 500g €2.99 Lidl

Great price for strawberries in Lidl at the moment IMO. 500g for €2.99, in my experience 500g would normally cost between €5 and €6 so €2.99 is pretty decent.

Strawberries are currently €2.99 for 227g in Dunnes or 2 punnets for €5 which would be 454g, making Lidl 50% cheaper than Dunnes. Not sure what Tesco or Aldi are doing them for but I doubt Lidls price is beaten by any of the others.

i find aldi, tesco and lidl strawberries not great at the moment, tasteless and hard

dunnes is 2 for a fiver, the quality is improving (less hard and tasteless) as we get closer to the summer.(theyre from spain at the mo.)

First season irish ones are starting to appear in shops for 2.99 keelings one's... Can't stand outta season strawberries Spanish ones are ok but egyptian are muck... Another few weeks to beautiful fresh irish berries!!!

Anyone know country of origin? as Egyptian ones are meh meh, as are most of spanish ones, but good deal if they are Irish thanks op

FWIW Today I was in a Polo store. They had 2Kg trays of spanish strawberries for something under E7.00 / tray

Spanish Strawberries 500g €1.49 in ALDI tonight...in Germany.

Yup your totally right. Just got some Irish Keelings in Dunnes yesterday, 2 for a fiver. Not bad either (taste better than the imports ). Keelings seem to be really doing well in the fruit business (considering they import a lot of the strawberries themselves during the off season!).
