I'm goin to do it tomoro. I've got two reminder emails today suggesting the quicker I do the video the better chance I have of being selected, anyone else get these emails.

Is it possible to do the video interview using an iphone? I don't have access to a laptop with a webcam.

Taken from the last email I received: If you want to take your video interview on a mobile device, such as an iPhone, iPad or Android device, click on the interview link to download the video interview app. Once the app has been downloaded, simply click on the link in this email again to get started.

Hey guys, for anyone still to do the video interview, I did it today and got the same questions as mentioned above.
(When I had to go the extra mile and why they should hire me)

    Only takes 10 mins.

    Good luck all

Just got an email saying I've been selected for interview in Dublin. Happy days:)

I just got an email for the assessment too but I assume not having a full licence at this stage will result in my application being struck off. It was on the list of initial requirements

Got one too, is it an interview or a test? My definition of an assessment is an exam like bit confused here!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,073 ✭✭✭thekopend

Anyone know if we can change the date we selected?

Any idea who to contact in relation to more info on the course. Like course content, location of training, salary during and after training etc. Hard to find information online or is it just me

Guys when we did the assessment 3 years ago it was in a suite in the citywest hotel where you had to re-sit an apptitude test to prove you didnt have help when you did the first one

Then we had group exercises on tasks where teamwork was required but it was also your moment to shine and show them how good you are as an individual but dont take over completely use your initiative

I would say give them a ring in HQ and look for Hr or personnel, shouldn't be much of a problem but not ideal looking , try stick with ur first choice if Ya can , don't draw any unwanted attention on yourself , best of luck.

The training the last time i think started in hq in dublin for a few weeks then portlaoise or somewhere. On the job training in the 2 years could be anywhere. The apprentice pay was 19k the first year then 20 odd second year not sure. Then 28k when finnished apprentice but it goes up and its a good secure job for 30 years if you want it.all this might not be 100 percent accurate as could be different now but is a good idea

The training last time started with 3 days in hsq then we were paired up with technicians for on the job training and experience and then brought in for our different courses over the year - im not sure whether the format we were put through is being repeated but it will probably be fairly similar
    Courses included
    Electrical principles
    Fibre optic splicing
    Customer service. Etc etc

Does anyone know by end of apprenticeship what the chances are of being located near home?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 318 ✭✭focusowner

Most of the last group that were taken on were working from home after just a few weeks into the apprenticeship
