Funny MMO being playing on and off for 2 weeks. Questing and crafting i really like. Community what there is seems OK zone chat is fairly sparse. I'm Level 19 atm and its OK not rushing just running around getting mats and things. Lfg is still broken form when it was released? If that's the case is a bloody disgrace. Minus points interface is complete rubbish i mean beyond words bad. Like a games console feel its awful. UIs and not updated and few and the general info about the game is old and hard to find. All in all i have 2 more weeks before a sub kicks in. Not sure atm i have to get a dungeon group at my level because when a group forms its always disbanded... The graphics are amazing coming from WoW maxed so good. And theres more moaning about the game i could type but cba :D

It's happening soon so. I always meant to go back to it, so I'll hold off for a while. Hope to Talos they add controller support.

I tried all the big mmo's this year - wildstar, eso and wod and tbh I had by far the most fun in eso. such a shame it was beset by bugs and the stupid veteran ranks endgame system.

Just got 2 months Game-time with Christmas Vouchers from Amazon.Hope it doesn't go FTP soon don't think it will. Still 1 week left on free month. Think the game is brilliant great crafting and quests.Still bugs but cant be helped. I'm a WoW veteran and wouldn't touch it ever again tbh. WoD from what I've read just sounds the same old rehash and professions are gutted now with Garrisons. Theirs a fraction of the community found on ESO but at least i don't see the foul mouth kids and general crap in WoW these days. My stuff sells fast in Traders and my Dungeon runs are a pleasure and yes there's conversation unlike my days playing in Mop. :)

Seriously though, it's a shame this hasn't done well, but it's not that surprising.

It only took 9 months, but it made it in the end... Free-to-Play starting March.

    http://www.gamespot.com/articles/elder-scrolls-online-going-free-to-play-on-pc-ps4-/1100-6424769/

EDIT: For accuracy, I should say it will remain Buy-to-Play, but there are no more subscriptions.

You still need to buy the game to play it. His key will still work.

F2P but not Free. You gotta buy it. Which will prob be cheap as chips. But still...

I might tot back on. I did enjoy the game. Maybe a part time pve type project when I'm bored :)

Brilliant, I'm deffo going to have another bash as this in March. I remember really enjoying it for a few months until the world emptied out. I'd expect a surge in players once it's free.

Hopefully it's still enjoyable without having to pay for bonus content.

I'll be picking this up once its F2P anyway :)

I've not played in quite awhile... I should still have my account [bought the big Collector's Edition with the statue] when it goes F2P, aye ?

It goes B2P, but yes, you will have your account and can play without further payment.

Is this one worth checking out? Looking for new MMO options after getting really tired of WoW!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,672 ✭✭✭Peetrik

I enjoy it, the PVE is fun, character creation is widely customizable which allows the combat system to be a simple or as complex as you like. Crafting system is interesting and materials are easily available.

The PVP is very accessable, you can jump in at lvl 10 and be a genuine asset to a group by contriubiting to sieging holds etc (although you'd get schooled in combat of course). At present the community is mature enough and easy going although that's likely to change for awhile after it goes BTP.

Oh and it's a brand new game so it looks very pretty to boot.

    I'd recommend it.

Great, thanks for the detailed feedback. Just looking for something to play casually really, so if i can pick it up cheap, I might give it a try. I see it goes free to play soon too so might hold on for that!

I've been playing 2 months now. Its OK nothing special just different from your typical theme park MMOs. The good points are the graphics which are amazing coming from WoW but there's lots of negatives. Still bugs i have had 20 ESO engine crashes a broken Lfg Tool a freaky interface a lack of UIs and a tiny population. Update 1.6 went live today so maybe that will add things. My biggest gripe is the lack of passion from the developers the quests are pretty much the same trust me once you hit Veteran Level you either stay or quit. There's 4 classes to choose from but you can develop skill lines which is kind of intriguing. I played Everquest after a year of it being out it had 12 starting classes and more dept but then that's the developers putting everything into what they were doing. Its B2P soon so no harm to give it a go. Be aware this is not a flowing MMo in the WoW sense loading screens are pretty much constant. So a SSD is a huge plus. Btw if your like me since i started playing MMos years ago and need advice about classes and builds then the information or up to date info is severely lacking for this game.Enjoy :D

Just decided to give this a go, havent played much since launch, so far holding my attention, but will see, was not very impressed with the Beta or launch, but 1.6 is keeping me going for now.

I'm coming back on 17/3 - have to admit I did enjoy this and the fact that it's not Free to play has got me coming back.

It is free to play, but also pay-to-win .... you can buy lots of stuff with Zen, which someone somewhere bought for cash. T6 ships are as far as I know only available with zen.... Have a look at the delta rising operations pack: 144 euros. One fecking hundred and fecking forty fecking four fecking euros.

Personally I think it is. Now that it's free to play. It's a very solid if not particularly deep MMO, the PVP is absolutely awesome fun if you get in with the right crowd.

Curious, the Collector's Edition [And Deluxe I believe] gave you various perks... such as being able to play as an Imperial, and the capability of making any race for whatever faction... will those perks remain, or will it become an unlocked shop bought feature now like what SWTOR's done?

Bought in the store but there are still various base packs to purchase giving you various different things. Although it F2P you still have to buy the game.

If, like me you forgot to patch the game any time recently, you might wanna go ahead and do that. It'll take a while :P

Just gave the game a try, yeah.. seems you can unlock everything the CE gives through the store... but as a CE owner they're already unlocked.

    Feel completely lost in the game atm, even though I got a level 41 Nightblade and 47 Sorc... >_<;

Spent 4 hours last night sorting out my bank :D

I haven't played in a while just slowly getting back into the swing of things.

fcuk me ... posting in wrong thread .... blaming daughter because I had to get up at 5:30 to bring her to buses for school trip this morning.

Might give it a go ... played open beta and the bots were just nuts, had to kill one mini boss and there were like 15 ish bots there that just instagibbed the boss continuously... tried for 20 minutes to tag the boss but apparently the bots had a much lower ping ... iirc there were plenty of broken quests too ...

I'm guessing that with a year of being live a lot of that crap has been fixed
