    NAMBLA

I thought it was just a made up group from South Park. But as it turns out, they're real. And they've had a close history with the LGBT crowd up until the 90's.

That 24 hours when it is okay to possess a host of drugs that were otherwise illegal. Facebook didn't make it real, breaking news didn't making it real. When I saw it was being covered by RTE and international news bulletins, it suddenly became real. Naturally I stayed at home and did nothing different than any other day.

    The Kardashians.
Until a year ago I thought their mention was an in joke with sic-fi fans regarding a sexy alien species from a tv series.

Opposite I believed somebody was real and they weren't: I thought JarJar Binges was real. I tuned out at the mention of his name in popular culture as I had no interest. I really assumed he was a rapper like Snoopy Snoopy Doggy Dog Dog or Icey Tea or one of those lads. Turns out he's actually a rather weird looking alien fellow in Star Wars. Still not a fan.

Wolverines - they do exist, in Northern Europe.

When I first heard that The Script were headlining Croke Park this summer I thought it was a radio spoof. The Academy or Vicar St i'll buy but CP? get out of here.

    Charlie McCreevey announcing the SSIA.

Save 4 euro and the Government will top it up by 1 euro at the end.

    Fo sho?

Aye but wasn't there a 5-year lock in or something, so each euro earns effectively 4c per annum in raw terms.
The real earnings rate was something like 3.x%. Not that exciting in what was, let's face it, a background of runaway inflation where nobody wanted to save and if you bought shares in anything you would have outperformed the SSIA.

Wouldn't mind if it was available today though!;)

That British reporter relaying events towards the end of Spider-Man 3 - honestly thought it was some kind of weird joke I wasn't getting.

    Horrendous dialogue and acting.

The first time I saw an advertisement for Pineapple Dance Studios on Sky I thought that Louis Spence was too camp to be real. I thought it had to be a spoof reality show.

What a hilarious exaggeration of American culture my 12 year said, I go to to the USA and its completely true, balls to the wall advertising, and doomsday mongering in the media.

Nearly right. Look up 'beetle bonnet' on urban dictionary (NSFW)
