Cleaning up ash from a stove?

What do people use to clean up ash around a stove? I have a tray in the stove that I empty daily but there is always a light layer of ash around the stove. I am reluctant to vacuum it because I heard ash clogs up the filters. The ash is quite fine because I burn a lot of turf. What do people use to remove ash?

You can get a vacuum that is made for stove ash, lidl/aldi have them on offer a few times a year. We have one the last 18 months and its been perfect, the filter just needs the occassional clean out.

Brush, pan and a plastic bag.

I use an old dyson. I put 2 plys of kitchen roll on top of the main filter each clean. This takes most of the ash meaning you don't have to wash the main filter every day!

Been doing this last 2 seasons on the Stanley Oisin. Dyson still going grand.

I do have a 10+ year old Dyson but the suction has gone way down after all the ash, I will try the kitchen paper trick. Thanks.
