I think Ox looks to be ahead of him now, I think Walcott will stay but be told what he get rather then him calling the shots at the contract talks. I doubt many big clubs will take him on with his injuries.

City will take him if there's any chance he's available, I think Wenger is being cautious with him and will try keep him fit for a big preseason

would be chuffed if we didn't have to face the pool in the final

Good win but the reaction on the United thread says a lot as well.

Watched the Wiltord goal earlier before the game and just after seeing that the cast of a French reality show he was involved in were killed in a helicopter crash in Argentina. It seems he had already been knocked out though and was back in Paris. Sounds like a lucky escape

Walcott is still miles ahead in terms of end product though for me, he will most likely get a chance now with the Ox out. Walcott and Ozil seem to link up quite well, I hope he stays for the longterm.

Just one other thing, I like most others have been crying out for signings for ages. I have always said though only if we buy the right player if he's available, I dont mind spending an extra few million if its worth it or that bit extra in wages either. But if you look at how Utd, Spurs and Liverpool have squandered millions in recent times then I would much rather stick to what we're doing.

Super result tonight. Like the City game we were very disciplined and composed. Hoping we can at least give Monaco a good fright and get the Mourinho gorilla off our back once and for all now. Finish the season strong and hopefully with a trophy. This club could have turned the corner at long last. Up the Gunners!

Anyone up for playing the reserves out in Monaco? rather focus on what we have now

No id really go for it to be honest. You'd never know. If we managed to go 2-0 up early then all of a sudden we're back in the tie. Im also convinced that Monaco arent really all that good and are beatable with the right approach.

No, we need to give it our best shot. It's not completely lost at this stage. Stranger things have happened in football!

We went to Munich two years ago and won 2-0, beat a very strong looking Milan side 3-0 at home a few years back too. Anything is possible. We should start with Walcott out wide in Monaco and go all out attack. If we score early who knows what will happen!

Exactly. We nearly levelled the tie against Milan 3 year ago only for Van Persie to miss an open goal. We'd be insane to just accept our fate. If i was to pick a second team id play one against Bradford/Reading before id play one against Monaco.

If we can get the good quick ball into the likes of Theo we can open them up. Hopefully tonight can give us one final injection in the same way beating Spurs 5-2 back at the Emirates in 2012 did

First off brilliant result and if it wasn't for De gea we could have knocked in a couple more...

Rojo not having as much as a yellow for the obstruction on Ox and the pull back on Danny is shocking

Was fuming when Bellerin got the card but Rojo didn't get one...but in the end Ref showed a lot of bottle for booking those dives...so fair play to Mike Oliver

Have to say I don't feel as confident with Chesney between the sticks and I stand by that

After such a good result don't wanna concentrate on negatives but will take Ospina or even Martinez until Chesny gets his act together.

What about Ozil lads and lassies… What a baller.

All he needs to do now is show a bit more confidence in front goal...

That's hard earned happiness...he fully deserves it and long may it continue....

Anyone else here a fan of the Arsecast Extra podcasts? I really enjoy them every week but can't wait for tomorrows edition. So great to see Wenger smiling at Old Trafford again :)

After watching United tonight, it's hard to believe that they're in the top 5. So many average players...Smalling, Valencia, Blind, Herrera, Januzaj, Fellaini, Young. Wouldn't want any of them near our squad.

Definitely not. Play the best team and go for it. It'll be unbelievable if we get through but what you're suggesting could be interpreted as a defeatist attitude

Irrespective of how poor United may be..that's a huge win for us as supporters at Old Trafford, for most of the players who had never won there and huge for Wenger too.

I know I sound miserable here but I'm convinced Liverpool's name is on this Cup but the result tonight is still significant for us in terms of confidence, etc.

Why are you convinced? I think Liverpool will struggle against Blackburn and would even struggle against a Fired up villa in the semi. I think whoever won today has their name on the trophy and thankfully it was us
