India have qualified, could have an off day, put Pakistan into real trouble...something they might like.

Joyce MOTM? Surely it was Cuscack? 4-32 in a game with over 650 runs scored.

Ireland could still end up topping this group now

Always favour us in a cliffhanger

Ed Joyce 'man of the match'? Maybe but I reckon Alex Cusack would have a good claim on that as well :)

So rain dances a plenty for New Zealand on Tuesday so? My experience of Super 15 rugby leads me to believe that it often rains in Hamilton

Was so relieved when I saw that he was bowling for that last over.

Amazing composure for the whole team though in that last over.

Or it could rain ! And that would put us on 7 points.

3 wins from 4 games is fantastic - 1 more win and quarter finals beckon

Poor Zimbabwe lad looked like he was going to break down

    It's possible but highly unlikely

Weather forecast for Hamilton is for good weather for our match against India.

Will be a bit of a travesty if West Indies end up qualifying ahead of us, even though we've beaten them.. but that's the system and it favours the stronger/ more consistent teams.

Damnit I was hoping it would bucket down in Hamilton and Adelaide :o

This result means it's unlikely 3 teams will finish on 6 points in the group.....unless of course SA get beaten by the UAE !!!

So Assuming Ind and SA 1 and 2 in the group.....the likely scenarios going forward :

WI beat UAE ...... Finish up with 6 points

If Ireland lose to Ind and Pak then Pak go thro and it will be between Irl and WI for 4th place on NRR

If Ireland beat Pakistan then it's between Pak and WI for 4th place on NRR

Advantage for both Ireland and Pakistan will be they will both know how much NOT to lose by to get through as they play last

It looks like we must get one more point.

    Highly unlikely to survive otherwise.

Not really ..... See my previous post

I'll be more happy if I was in the Irish camp than if I was in the West Indian one

Who knows, UAE might do us a favour in their last game against the West Indies :) Might be due a win!

Ultimately the killer result for us was WI beating Pakistan. After beating them we really needed SA, India and Pakistan to beat them as well, we'd then 'only' have needed to beat UAE and Zimbabwe

I don't think that boundary catch could have been given as a six, unless Mooney called it. It could have been a shadow, there was too much uncertainty.

Great win all the same, nothing like a handy win where the result in never in doubt :)

Compared to our full test neighbours that Boyd Rankin moved to....

    Ireland 3 wins, 1 loss
    England 1 win, 3 losses.

    Different groups but still...

The thing is the WI rr is better then ours now. If we lose then our nrr can only be affected negatively. If WI win theres can go up. There is no way we catch them on nrr

They are still far more likely to qualify though...

There is always the hope that WI's game is rained off even if the one against India isn't.

I am now accepting bribes from anyone who doesnt want me to watch the Indian or Pakistan games :D

I watched till 5 am last night when our run rate was painfully slow and fell asleep right as Porterfield was taken. As soon as I'm asleep, Joyce and Balbirnie go to town on it! Then we have a great start right until I wake up just after 9 AM and Taylor/Williams go on their run to 200 runs. I signed off and watched Soccer AM *groan* just to be doing something else other than watch the cricket and sure enough.....

So yep. Bribes/donations to not have me watch the cricket are graciously accepted :D

Can't wait to watch the highlights at 1 PM :D
