trying to identify bird call at night

    I am wondering if someone can tell me which birds make a long call at night this time of year,,been listening to this for years and it only happens around this time mid to late march or early april,, always a sign of spring for me.
    its not a whistle but long haunting really nice sound.
    any links to hear the sound also thanks
