I got 26k after one year in electronics quality. I wasn't too impressed but dues are there to be paid.

At least it was a great work environment.

As far as I know its the maximum length of a fixed term contract. A permanent contract has to be offered if the employee is retained. Otherwise they are let go.

Sorry if this is wrong place for this, but a good friend is looking to get some experience in an engineering job. He would be happy with job bridge even. He has recently obtained a first class honors degree in mechanical engineering from ITT as a mature student (mid 30s) and is finding it difficult to get experience. He is Dublin based but would be open to moving elsewhere in the country or indeed probably abroad for some experience. If anyone has any leads it would be great. Obviously if this is in the wrong place it should be moved, cheers folks.

    Hi,

Just wondering did anyone here apply to the Office of Public Works recently for the open competition for the position of Engineer Grade III (Civil). This competition was for 8 positions to be based in either Trim, Headford or Limerick. The jobs were advertised on the publicjobs.ie website.

Has anyone been offered an interview with the OPW as I believe the interviews were to be held in late July, early August.

    Thanks in advance.
