Only 16/1 in PP is you want the insurance of free bet back if UDS wins

Looks like someone noticed this thread i just joined 888 think i will take the 40/1 e/w. Rather that then a free bet if he comes second to UDS.

I would say less again smart people back online. I can;t understand how anyone serious about gambling doesn;t shop around online and also not avail of guaranteed prices online.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you can't beat going in to the bookies. Having the chat, filling out the docket, changing the docket, changing your mind, tearing up the docket and starting again. Having a bit of a flirt with Denise behind the counter(now and agin she will put you wide to a horse).
Online gambling IMO is a bit like making love to a blow up doll(not that I have any experience of that)

However all the bogeys roaring at the screen and trying to tell you how McCoy/Ruby/Geraghty fooked them over for a treble do not add to the experience!

Only happens in bookies, you wouldn't have people coming up chatting to you telling you that the sausages were out of date yesterday in a supermarket ffs!

Hate bookies, spend as little time as possible in them (and I don't really bet online tbh)

I agree, especially during festival week. Get up, read the post, look at the markets, stick on the morning line and then down and do the bets for the day. IN and out in ten minutes and then home to pace anxiously around the house until one o clock!

I agree, especially during festival week. Get up, don't buy the post, look at the markets, ignore the morning line and then down and do the bets for the day before the place gets infested with dirty students leaving their schoolbags lying all over the kip and treating the bookies like it's their canteen. IN and out in ten minutes and then home to pace anxiously around the house until pub time!

    FYP ;)

    :pac:

The more I stay out of a bookies the better. Full of smelly fools talking about the great double they won, who they're backing in the cartoons. Paddy Power in Prospect Hill full of students roaring home the 4/6 shot they that had their 3 quid on as if they are some sort of gambling god. There's one degenerate in there that goes around cleaning the shop every time I'm in there. Didn't realize he was employed by them.

Was in Galway for a weekend last month and popped into that very shop for a bet on dundalk. That fella (a settled traveller by my estimation) started cleaning up around me and threw my almost full Butlers latté in the bin. Savages in that part of the country!! Not to mention the group of 15 young Africans who were considerably louder than a 747 in take off

Just lumped on Windsor Park @ 10/1 NRNB Albert Bartlett

Thinking Weld opts for this easier race and the better ground should help him stay the extra distance.

A small treble on Sprinter Sacre, Conti and Coneygree and a single on Balder Succes is my only antipost betting this year, finally realizing getting my hands bitten ain't nice

Employed mighn't be the right word, probably does it for a free bet.

I pop into bookies the odd time, same old grubby, unshaven faces, wreaking of drink and cigarettes with the same clothes on every time you see them coming over to tell you what your are backing is wrong, then when you ask them what they are backing. Ivariably it's Mc Coys/ Walshs/ Geraghtys horse.

One day I am just going to be blunt and ask them why they are dirty, unshaven in the same clothes if they are so knowledgable.

I read plenty of the chat on this forum and i'd say plenty of ye who look down on the fella in the bookies are not in the 20%, ye know for a fact, who make a profit, or was it 5% in the latest survey that followed two minutes after. Anyone who doesnt gamble online is a mug? I'd imagine the fact it is Paddy Powers highest growing market blows that idea out of the water. There are degenerates in society, who through maybe their own fault are not as well off or capable as others, but seriously the way some of the posters here go on you'd swear they should be segregated. I can go into a bookies and write out my slip for a fiver and no one bothers me. If they do, i'm capable of being polite and moving on. Does it annoy ye that they go on about McCoy, Geraghty, et al, because you want them to shut up so you can tell them how clever and clued in you are? You're Irish (i'll assume) that means you're middle class at best, get over yourself. Back to Cheltenham and trying to break even and have fun at the same time.

Just buy them from the touts, you'll have no trouble getting them for the original price or even less

I can't see sil c doing it this year either, I may be talking out of my pocket having been on him the previous 2 years but there is no way he'll be third time lucky.

UDS is a machine, I'll be backing joses hill at the prices but he is clearly the best in the division.

My lay is douvan on any ground better than soft.

Sweet!! Buying off the touts is the only game.

Some good banter here tonight :pac: My local bookie is more like a senior citizens social club, especially when I do my bets first thing on Saturday morning. Not a fella there would have a clue about horse racing, but you get some good laughs. Many a time I'd go in and just do a £2 football bet.

You'll have to either buy tatts tickets of the touts there will be loads on the firday, or get 1 club ticket which is the same just has the added extra of CLub, as well as tatts.. Word of advice on the Friday is think its worth the extra to get club as its much better viewing and way less crowded. It can be difficult enough to see much from tatts on Friday, and takes a long time to get to parade ring etc, club is much better in that crowd..

Twiston Davies doing his best to talk up The New One claiming he should be joint favourite with Faugheen. Also says that Faugheen is a grinder(!!) and his horse is a bridle horse. Also claims that Faugheen has made many more mistakes in his races than The New One. Says that he reckons he has Jezki covered and was disappointed to lose last years Champion Hurdle as he thought he could win 3 in a row.

If his horse performs as well as Twiston Davies is talking he will win on the bridle.
