This little Phenom M-KELY visits Enniskillen most weekends from Cranfield

    http://fr24.com/E50P/5970870

Presumably some wealthy tycoon popping back for a break from the City life!

PS dunno why FR24 uses the M-YTOY pic for all Phenoms!

What's going on around Dublin AP. No one is making approaches they are just flying by the approach area. Are they changing runways?

Edit : A Ryanair is now on approach, maybe the runway was in use or something.

    Why was JFK closed?

Probably due to adverse weather. East coast america is being whacked by several winter storms. Lots of wind snow and ice don't suit aviation ;)

As above. Snowstorms. I had a family member who was stuck in LGA yesterday due to snow storm related cancellations.

This pic may show the conditions there at the time:

There was a rumour earlier that there was some staffing issues with the plough team at JFK that resulted in delays due to runways not being cleared.

The coastguard heli was on the approach path.

Whats causing all the Heathrow delays this evening?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,487 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Whats causing all the Heathrow delays this evening?

    I'm not entirely sure.

My educated guess would be that the strong crosswind hitting the runways at Heathrow are slowing the speed that it can handle takeoffs and landings.

    There may be other reasons.

    EI3279 Go-Around at DUB.

I think he was too close to the stobart on front of him.

    EGLL 222150Z 21010KT 5000 BR SCT004 BKN008 08/08 Q0991 NOSIG

Nothing in the way of a strong crosswind, did they have any issues earlier that have caused a knock on ?

On LHR's twitter feed today around 4pm they said the airport was experiencing delays due to strong crosswinds, most likely knock on effecting now

So Ironic, I had the live atc and fr24 open for an hour with no go arounds, the minute I turn off the ATC and go away from FR24 there is a go around.

    25kts wind at DUB btw.

Just airborne out of IoM is Bell 430 M-DWSF

    http://fr24.com//598abfc

Fairly rare in this part of the World and the only one on the Manx register.

Edit: looks like there's only one on the Irish register, EI-WAV, and none in the UK!

Like that old KitKat ad where yer man is trying to take the photo of the roller-skating pandas. :D

Things will get quite hairy later as these winds roll in.

My flight to Frankfurt delayed 1.5hrs. Seems to be a few delays due to late arrival of aircraft at DUB. Fun watch FR24 and trying to listen to ATC while in the airport watching the planes take off.

Ei3235 the third Stobart of the day on its go around.

I don't think WAV is still active, it used to be Westairs/ McManus' heli but LIM replaced it. EI-TIP was another Bell 430 on the register in the not to distant past.
