F Rooney is upfront and Herrea in mid, be interesting what excuses a bad preformance today....

Jones better not flunk this audition. He's had chances to impress this season and hasn't taken them. Smalling's been a much better defender over the last few seasons.

    He doesn't deserve to start.

The way United posted the team sheet would suggest

    Blind

    Herrera
    Fellaini

    Di Maria

    Rooney
    RvP

    We'll likely see

    Blind -- Rooney -- Hererra

    Fellaini

    RvP
    Di Maria

A poorly performing Van Persie offers more to the team than a poorly performing Falcao. He can't really have any complaints.

    Oh What a Night,
    Late in May in 99
Ole scored a goal in extra time
What a feeling, What a night.

    Love it :D

Van Persie may be a waning force but he's the only one on the team who can actually control a football that is travelling faster than 5 miles per hour.

It's ridiculous how these supposed elite players let the ball bounce 5 yards off their foot on a consistent, almost constant, basis.

    Hererra is very very good.

Di Maria has been poor today..his distribution and end ball so wasteful.

    Unbelievable.

Play well and concede to a poxy fúcking deflection.

Really not sure which was worse; that RVP constantly got opportunities he squandered, or that Rooney never looked dangerous at all and never got any chances. After all the talk that "Rooney is our best option up front", the reality is he had a very poor game again today. It's scary we have RVP, Falcao and Rooney and yet our strike rate is dismal. RVP couldn't hit a barn door and Rooney just never looked all that bothered.

Thought Herrera and Fellaini did grand today. McNair didn't follow up his good preformance last game at all. DiMaria wasn't great. Defence was the usual shambles. Young changed the game positively when he came on. Mata, on the other hand, did nothing.

I honestly don't blame LVG at all right now though; there's still too many players who just aren't up to scratch at the moment. We're still in the middle of a rebuilding process, but we desperately need to bring in a new striker and a new defender this summer.

Disastrous result. Hopefully that isn't too knee-jerk for some.

Di Maria was, for me, the worst out there. Maybe on par with Mc Nair

first it was the 5-3-2 then it was because Rooney was in midfield and Herrera wasnt playing so what is it now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,690 ✭✭✭ElChe32

Terrible result. Encouraging 2nd half and then took the foot off the pedal and never closed Uncle Fester down and it cost us big style. RVP anonymous, Di Maria wasteful.
How we didn't bring on a striker I'll never know.

Very frustrating. Play decent and can't score. A point wouldn't have been the end of the world but to get nothing is sh**e. Gutted

Absolutely pathetic. Could have played for 20 mins there at the end. Swansea looked like they were the ones chasing an equaliser.
