Evans should be sold. I also think Jones should be sold, he just doesn't ever inspire confidence. Would probably need to bring in an established world class CB then and perhaps a younger prospect?

If we're getting rid of strikers, I'd prefer them to be RVP and Falcao. RVP hasn't been good this season, and Falcao looks a shadow of his former self. Again, would probably need to bring in 2 strikers. Plenty of good ones out there; Dybala, Bas Dost, Vietto, Ronaldo...;) Also, didn't realise Lacazette was only 23. Seems like he's been around for ages and has flourished since Gomis left.

Sunderland can't afford him so the fluck would buy him?

Thoughts on the line-up for tomorrow? We owe Swansea a batin'...

    DDG
    McNair----Smallng
    Rojo
    Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera
    Di Maria
    Mata
    Young
    Rooney

Herrera has played more or less the last 2 games, I would like to think he his now been rotated into the 11 and has earned a spot tomorrow going on his last 2 appearances.

I know Jones is back fit, but I'd rather see another game with Smalling/Rojo to continue building their partnership and a somewhat consistent pairing at CB. I thought McNair was good at RB when he got a showing, nice going forward too, and would like to see him get another start in the position. I don't know what's happened to Raf and want to see him back in the team sooner rather than later, but I wouldn't like to see him start 'from cold' tomorrow in a game where 3 points are a must.

Shaw is slowly starting to show progress and shades of his pre-United form. As long as he's fit, I'd like to see his run in the team continue and with Young back also, they could be a threat for us down the left.

Jonny Kills (Mata) hasn't got a run in a while, maybe he's due for a game tomorrow. A team featuring the attacking threat of he, Herrera and Di Maria supplying service to Rooney could be a devastating weapon against any team if/when it clicks, not just against Swansea. Although, it would leave us a bit exposed in the middle against the stronger teams.

The above said though, I think my line-up is lacking far too much Valencia, RVP and Falcao for LVG's liking, and this will be reflected in tomorrow's line-up.

I am amazed how this idea of Rooney dropping too deep has taken off so much these days.

It's been a few years since he's been played as a striker regularly, when he used to his off the ball movement and work-rate in showing for the ball in the right areas was phenomenal. Like, among the best in the world phenomenal. I can't believe how quickly that has been forgotten. The few times he has played there this season has been our best striker for it more often than not.

When he moved to playing as a 10 he played deeper, but not any deeper than he should have been for the position. For all the complaints from posters on here, if you compare the majority of his games to other 10s, either by watching games or looking at stats, he doesn't lack at all for positioning. He's among the best for showing for the ball in the right positions, it's only his dribbling and vision that hold him back in that role.

    Re Dybala:
He's looked quality in the few games I've watched him. Great movement, skill and creativity, with a real eye for goal. If we do need another striker I'd be very excited about getting him.

It's hard to know whether or not we do need another striker. The squad is so fùcked up. Rooney and RVP don't work well together and both will cause trouble if they're not first choice. Mata could work very well at 10 with Rooney ahead of him, if he was given a chance, but with the state of the midfield that's not going to happen any time soon. Hernandez is quality and might have been kept happy as back-up if he was getting a reasonable amount of games, but instead he has been marginalised for Falcao and RVP who won't agree to being back-up players in the long run.

Don't rate Hernandez, find him to be a bit one dimensional

I think Chelsea will end up signing dybala, drogba will be finished this year, remy has injury issues and they will be on the outlook for a top striker, he seems the obvious fit

 Rooney gets back defending ALL the time??

Not when he was scoring 30 odd goals a season he wasn't.

Neville has changed his opinion completely on the "United way", another who believes the era of attractive football is over and the era of getting results by whatever means has begun

I'm all for anything that gets United back challenging for league titles but if this is the way things are going to go it's hard to see how Van Gaal will get the better of Mourinho who is the master at winning ugly

I think he was only talking about the era of attractive football united play is over not football in general. still loads of teams around who play good football, we under van gaal at this moment are not in that group

More chance of me pulling Kelly Brook than that team starting tomorrow.

Whatever about anyone else but Fellaini has been United's best outfielder this season and needs to start every game when fit imo.

I personally thought he was poor against Preston until moved up front, where he's looked good at times. I'm delighted he's done better than last season and is getting a bit of confidence back, but I wouldn't agree he's been our best outfield player by any stretch.

    Humour us.

    Who has been better?

Blind has been consistently good, not occasionally good like Fellaini.

Blind, Rojo and Herrera (when he's played) have impressed me more. I think Fellaini's been good when played further forward but I don't think good enough in midfield.

What bad games has Fellaini had in your opinion to make him occasionally good? I remember him playing badly in 1 game during the winning run but can't remember the exact one but other than that he's been consistently United's best player when played. Even when shunted out to the right which has happened far too much this season.

Agree with Liamo, Fellani has been a player that has actually looked dangerous for us this season.

United are currently third in the Premier League and I don't have the same clarity . Even now I struggle to locate the precise deficiencies.

I don't - it's the absolutely stupid points dropped at the start of the season without which we'd easily be second and close to challenging for first.

Manchester United are interested in signging Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia in the summer for £8million, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 29-year-old Argentine has also been linked with PSG, while United were thought to be interested in the January transfer window.

would love us to run riot on Swansea today with Falcao bagging a hat trick.

I say that everytime he plays and look what happens. I hope he has a stinker today :D

I was excited when Falcao joined, to the point of nearly getting his name on my shirt (would have been the second player ever, no prizes for guessing the only one), but he just isn't cutting it. Would love to see him go on a scoring run, just can't see it. I wouldn't make the loan permanent, but don't know who else to turn to.

I had a look his previous two seasons on youtube. He scored an amazing about of goals from about 5 yards out, just a knack of being in the right place at the right time. He just isn't going to get that many chances like that playing for United in the Premiership. Also didn't know he took penalties and very well by the looks of things. Scored a few lovely chips when one on one with the keeper too.

Very good lineup for the game I think its probably our strongest 11 if they all play to potential
    Rooney up top
    Fellani a number 10
Mcnair right back and di Maria and Herrera in midfield.
