The United way is a load of clichéd bollox.

If we changed manager like every other club there wouldn't be such a thing.

It's like arsenal and thier walk it into the back of the net

It's like the Liverpool mantra of pass and move. They were the most boring team in the world to watch in the 80's. Is it coincidence that they went to sh1te when the backpass rule was changed? They'd go 1-0 up and spend the rest of game passing the ball sideways and back to the 'keeper.
As much as we hated them last season when they nearly won the league,at least they played fast flowing football, much like the style we used to have about 4 seasons ago.

I want to see the quality of football improve, especially considering the squad we have, but I am more than happy to keep getting good results in the meantime waiting for that to happen. I don't think we've played attractive football though on anything near a consistent basis since 08-09, long before Fergie left. It's not just a problem attributed to this season or last IMO.

couldn't agree more with this the football united have been has been poor and pedestrian since ronaldo and tevez left. The last year under Fergie was really poor but the fergie factor was huge and van persie was just fired up and hungry to win a league.

said it here last week about how poor the league was this season and that English teams would be shown up in Europe, well judging by last nights game looks like I was correct, Chelsea totally played off the park

I can't see the link because I'm on a train.

I'm guessing it's Bolivia? Are they not unbeaten at home for like 1 million matches?

Yep, 12,000 feet above sea level.

It was a very good away performance that has them in the driving seat in the tie

    Are Munich ****e too?

It was a typical Mourinho performance away from home in Europe. They will win comfortably at home.

It's the same as Fergie did for years set up not to lose away from home and beat them at home.

no Bayern dominated shaktar, 8 shots to shaktars 1, 64% possession and they even had Alonso sent off.

Only for courtouis and a poor ref, psg could have finished the tie last night, 14 shots of goal to chelseas 1, a stone wall penalty the ref didn't give and Chelsea couldn't even string 2 passes together.

I bet you Chelsea will go close to lifting the title .. It was the absolute the perfect away performance from Chelsea.

Being honest it's killing me seeing us outside Europe .. It just doesn't feel right!

But they had fun celebrating winning the league a month before the season ended.:pac:

yea I still think they will scrape through the next game but it was far from perfect. a perfect game is where you control the tempo, attack on the counter, etc Chelsea couldn't even get the ball near the psg goal last night and honestly should have been on the brink of being knocked out last night apart from some great goalkeeping and poor ref decision

A perfect game is winning no matter how you play. We did it in 99 against Bayern that was my perfect game we were more or less outplayed for 92 minutes but we got 2 goals and won. Bayern played close to the perfect game that night and lost :):)

United were awesome in the final 15 mins of that match. The tempo and the aggression they played with was unreal.

Chelsea getting a score draw away from home in the first leg proves your point??

Are you even reading what you are posting???

Just a little thing for you to look at and see if you still think Chelsea's result showed they are poor.

PSG are unbeaten at home in the Champions league since 2006. Here's a few decent results they have had at home the last two seasons.

    Chelsea 3-1
    Barca 2-2
    Valencia 1-1
    Porto 2-1
    Barca 3-2

I honestly am not missing it that much, other than not getting to watch more United games in any given week.

I have found the CL boring as **** for the last 5 or 6 years, up until the quarter finals at the earliest. It just doesn't bring me the same excitement aa it used to.

The odds are so heavily stacked in the big teams' favour that it's generally a procession to the quarters in 90% of cases.

It has lost a lot of its lustre for me.

I never said anything about the result!! I was on about the performance, able to pass the ball, move it quickly, create chances against good opposition and I believe Chelsea were shown up last night

do you feel the same way about the premier league? realistically there are only 2 teams that can win it, Chelsea and city, maybe next year there will be another team that can compete, but since the premier league came about 92/93 only 5 different teams have won it

Maybe a bit, but not as much, for whatever reason. It feels a bit more competitive on a week to week basis with more chance of an upset. Maybe it's just a perception thing but I know that I still watch a lot of league football, not just English, but watch a lot less CL than I did a few years back.

    Fuck you BBC!!

The one consolation of no CL football is that I'm not missing any games due to work and now the BBC schedule the FA Cup game for a Monday night.

Monday night games are crap. I know a few STH's who won't be able to make it over for what is essentially a season-defining game. Well done BBC.

Why can't they make it over? Are there no planes, trains or auto-mobiles allowed out on that night?

I for one am glad it's on a Monday night.
